I think they are getting the higher models because they have more on the lots ad for the leather, cruise control, larger wheels, bose stereo....

there are alot of reasons people got them... seeing the value in the packages, dealer offers.... who knows!

if you can get a 07 base for the same price as a 06 or older enthusiast or whatever the stepup is, then do it.

Enthusiast has TCS, cruise control, & other goodies plus the LSD.

Personally, I think it is well worth the extra 1500 or so to upgrade to Enthusiast.

To get Bose, you have to step up to Touring.
To get Brembo's you have to step up to Track or GT.

I like the ideas of TCS, VLSD, auto-dimming rear mirror, metal padals, and those buttons on the steering wheel. Most importantly, i'm a lazy person to do research and find aftermarket accessories to put on so i stuck with the enthusiast option which is good enough for me.

No not really. I'm getting an Nismo LSD and 3.9FD soon. It costs a bit more but I'm getting better stuff. Cruise control is something I never use, auto dimming mirror and aluminum pedals aren't that important to me. TCS would have been nice at times but I can live without it.

many of the "OMG I CRASHED MY Z" storys start with.... "..I got in the car and turned off TCS/VDC like I always do..."

And there are just as many threads that say "VDC saved my *** today!"

Just food for thought when choosing a model. I would only choose a base if I was building a track car...

I got the new 07 in the base model, just like others already said and I say the same thing too, if you wanna add something else like an lsd to your car its not that hard and it will be better then what came with the car stock in my opinion.

I agree with most that the ENTH package is the best value.

If you have a garage, then homelink is a must! You dont have to have that crappy garage door opener hangin on your visor. Autodimming mirros rock. LSD, do you want your shiny brand new car tampered with to have the LSD installed? Some do, some dont. Cruise, well it looks cool having buttons on the steering wheel Besides, its jsut another grand or two, if you are buyin a Z you make that in like 1-2 weeks! Life is short. get the Touring with shiny leather mmm...JK

Same with those peeps that NAtional Geographics find in the jungle. The ones where the lady workers throw their ***** over their shoulders before they work. Like how we roll up our sleeves.

They never saw the convenience of homelink. hhehe

I am completely happy with my base model. I've added a Nismo LSD, 06-07 headlights larger wheels and tires, with a BBK and navigation coming soon.

The only things you can't really add to your car reasonably are cruise control and steering wheel audio controls. If those are essential you have to go for the higher models. I can definitely live without those things.

Don't get me wrong I would have loved the Brembo's but not enough to shell out all the extra money for that model. Had cruise control on another car and was something I could easily live without on a any car.

The base left me cash to buy other crap with
