love the lower models....upgrade as you wish.....its the perfect platform for modifying. I used to have a touin model but I felt gulity ripping out the heated leather seats and the sound system....didn't need the 18 inch wheels either.
Ok I am confused, I have a 2005 Base Model 6MT. What engine do I have ? The Non-Rev-up or the Rev-up. This is embarassing, but it was a long story how I got into this car.
I have an '06 base 6spd MT, came with black leather seats w/ red suede in the center from the factory. All else can be upgraded later. I love my Z. The decision is yours...
I have an '03 Base and I love it. I've had it for 5 years now and really don't miss any of the features mentioned. Traction control is in my right foot so I don't really have any problems. This is the lightest of all the Z models. I have driven rear wheel cars for about 40 years so there was nothing new in the handling of the Z for me.
I have a 07 base. I love it. I dont need alot of the extras that the higher end models have. I have never driven a car with a lsd. So i dont really know if im missing anything
I went base cause i figured i would rather mod my car with the extra cash than get **** i really dont need and wouldnt buy if they werent offered to begin with.
I got the base and it was well worth it. Got the leather power heated seats w/ CF hood for 380$. Now just need a LSD for 600$ and wish I had brembos. Thats it. Same car for WAY cheaper.
pretty much if you are the guy that can add/install what ever the hell you want to your car, the base is makes a great canvas. But if you dont knwo wth you are doing (me), then start adding the things you want to have on your Z then buy the trim that has all that stuff.
I bought a used performance model solely because the dealership where I bought it obviously "thought" it was a base model because they priced it as such. I got in the car and saw the VDC light and the home link mirror and the pedals and went hmmmm. Plus it only had about 18K miles on it. I like having the VDC and the LSD...they have saved me on a few curved on ramps that I may have entered a bit too agressively.
