Default New to the forum, have a few questions.

Hey guys, I have a Srt-4 and its caused me a lot of problems in the last year that ive had it. I was wondering if The Z has a lot of problems?? Ive raced a few and i beat them, I was wondering what you guys run close to stock? I have an intake stage 1 and a different wastegate and I ran 13.8. Do they seem pretty quick?? Cheap to mod?? All the manuals are 6 speeds right?? Are they comfortable for a guy thats 6'2"? Thanks for your guys help!

You just opened a bad can of worms...

The problems with the earlier Z's were tranny and tire related. It then switched to oil consumption related with the Rev Ups. The '07s are having clutch issues. That's really it.

The Z is not cheap to mod... you'll get more bang for your buck with the SRT 4. The SRT 4 has MUCH better seats, but that's really it. The Z owns in every other aspect interior/exterior wise. With a good amount of money, the Z will be much faster than a stage 1/2/3 w/wo toys etc. Plan on investing an assload of money to build a reliable turbo/twin turbo Z... but also be prepared to be much more satisfied.

No, they're comfy, but not as race-inspired as the SRT 4's (those are MUCH more aggresive feeling/looking). That's just me though, I like those kine seats (I love my Recaros, for instance).

I was under the assumption Stock Z does better then 13.8 on the 1/4.

The Z is quality little more pricey but def worth it. You can say lets go for a ride in my Neon, or Z. What sounds better to you. LOL Okay it was small humor.

The Z is *capable* of running 13.6's (low 13's now with the '07) but that's with a damn good driver. I've seen stock SRT 4's run high 13's.

Reason I say that is because no SRT-4 has kept up or been able to beat me...

They won't "feel" fast because Z's have very linear power curves. You won't get the rush of torque like with the SRT 4 hitting full boost because of just that - turbo cars deliver power different then N/A cars. It's still relatively fast, but it won't feel like it.

Take the Turbo Off and you still have a 4 Banger Neon though. Dont have anything against the car, I personally had a Neon and if wasnt that the car was totalled I was going to drop it in the ocean. I had so many issues I cant even begin. First weekend I brought the car home yeah it stood in the driveway because it couldnt start. I spent more on deductibles then I do now on my car payment.

Again that was just a neon, but like I said take away the turbo and its still a neon. Just a very cool 1.

But to add to your comment yes those SRT4's are pretty quick.

what exactly does that mean? They have the same power through every gear, not like, instant power with a turbo??

I think you will find the 350Z terribly lacking in performance and handling. In fact, we don’t even have stages.

Too many other differences to call it just a Neon with a turbo.
