Hello, Im new to this site and have been reading alot of posts. I have been researching 350z's and srt-4's and I still cannot make a choice. I really love Z's and think they are great looking cars, but i have heard people that I know own them say they had trouble modding them and stuff. Im looking for a nice sporty car that is fast and i can mod to make it even faster. One of my friends who owns a Z tried to turbo it and the engine blew. This makes me not to sure about a Z. My other friend who drives a Srt-4 can keep up with a vette almost with his mods he got he smokes Z's but he did do about 10 grand worth of mods. The thing that turns me off of Srt-4's are that they still are neons. Does anyone have any opinions of cars. im trying to get a car to do mid 12's

see thats y the SRT4 turns me off i dont like the styling but i got to admit its a fast car for the price, i love the way 350z's look, but it takes a lot of money to mod them.

can i get average prices of the mods ppl have spent on their z?

 

I drive my friends srt4 and i must say that its pretty quick for the $. It all depends on what your looking for. Sports car?extra seats?budget?luxury?etc.

If you want to play you have to pay. There is one big advantage the Z has , its handles very well. A modded neon may be faster on the straight , but the Z will eat it in the corners.

 

yeah im not really on a budget im just thinking i found a 05 SRT with 10k miles for 19k that 10k extra i can spend on mods but im thinking its a neon, then i see them at the track and see them in low 12's and high 11's and am amazed. but i do love the way Z's look and feel my brother owns one and when i drive it i just never want to stop. im driving my friends SRT tomarrow

 

Get the neon. If you're paying 19k you're getting jerked.

 

Have you asked how many motors those guys have gone thru , my coworker is on the 3rd. Your really ganna save a lot of money getting a 12 second neon .

 

You should get an SRT-4!

Only that car can satisfy your need for speed. It is also much sexier than the Z to you obviously. Don't get a Z since they're really hard to modify and the engine tends to blow when you run it under mucho PSI to gain more speed and SMOKE vettes. You should also look into the RSX, they tends to beat SRT-4s often and both of those car will look much sexier than the Z. End of story byebye.

All jokes aside, are you really serious? I mean this isn't even a real question. If you were comparing the 350z with an STI or EVO8/9 or s2k I can understand...but an SRT-4?! Come on man, 4 doors, front wheel drive, made by dodge. You're comparing that pos with a car that has a history packed with racing heritage and legendary status. If you want to talk about quality and styling, the Z will beat the SRT-4 without a doubt. If you want speed, I guarantee you the Z will save you more money and give you more speed. Why? because if done right, you will spend more initially but you will spend LESS in the long term.

Also, the Neon takes the shape of half an egg shell. You gotta be kidding when you want to compare that to the Z - a car that countless people say is the sexiest car made! Come on, who would ever say "OMFG That's such a SEXY NEON!"

 

the srt4 (to me) is the bottom barrel of the sport compact car community. its not a bad car, but you can do better. if you are trying to decide between the z and the neon then its clear you dont really know the diff between the two cars.

im a current subaru owner (modded 05 wrx) about to jump ship after 5 years and move over to nissan. im looking for a more "refined" look... are more true sports car.


like aforementioned... both cars are completely different cars. both do different things. one gets you looks and nods from all the ricers, while those with more "respectable" cars gets you points and giggles. the other will get you second looks from anyone who knows anything about sporty cars.

yes, the z is more expensive to mod, but if you even think its in your price range then you better be damn sure you are ready to dump the money into the car you anticipate. its a higher end car and that means its more expensive to maintain and mod. its a fact of life.

 

i knw this was a stupid question i just wanted to see what people thought of neons i repect there speed but hate their body.

What does everyone think about the G35 eveyone i talk to says G35's are basically a more luxury interior 350z

 

i think what you need to ask yourself is this, am i a douche bag? If the answer is yes the choice is easy, you should like many other losers buy an SRT-4, but if you answer no you should buy a Z or at least something in the same class. Stop trying to compare these two cars when there is simply no comparison.

 

g35's are nice. tamer than z's, however. you sound like someone who will probably destroy whatever car they have, so go cheap.
