End Of Warranty
Sad moment. It's here! I've hit 72,000Miles as of last night. My warranty is now over. I believe Extended Warranty is about $1,500+ or something like that, right?

Yes, the parts warranty is supposed to be 1 year.

I'm planning on taking the car back to the dealer bout the tranny though. It was making a loud pulling noise on 1st gear ever since they put it on. and they said it had to break in. It's been well broken in by now, and it's still pulling hard.

I always own at least 3 vehicles (including a work truck and a perfromance car). We drive about 50K a year, and usually keep cars to about 100-125K.
I haven't spent $1500 altogether for repairs on all those vehicles in the last 10 years.
Why would anyone buy an extended warranty?

I gotta say...my extended warranty on my 93' rx7 replaced a motor($5200) and trans($2700) all for $1400.
Thats why people buy extended warranties.
to the OP, no more warranty = time to supercharge or turbo the car.

Bought an extended warrranty on a previous vehicle up to 50,000mi. The A/C unit died at 51,000. Dealer wouldn't warranty the work. Needless to say I didn't go back to them for any further business and have not purchased any more extended warranties. Just been keeping regular oil changes and a few batteries over the years on other vehicles. Probably saved a few thousands.

In fact, the Ford is in the shop for it's 2nd replacement transmission (3rd in its 13 year lifetime). I sure wish I had an extended warranty on either my Chevy or Ford
