For some reason when i downshift to second in tip tronic slowly coming to a stop at a light...... when it auto downshifts to 1st... it makes a "clunk" noise on the gear.... like it changes to early or something.... but if i leave it in 3rd gear (in tip tronic) then it just rolls slowly and skips "2nd" gear and just goes to "1st" gear smoothly.... for some reason 2nd to 1st gear on tip tronic auto downshifting is ruff.. and makes a shi**y noise.... neone else notice this? what may be causing it..

 

yup... mine does the same.... 3rd to stop no problem, but 2nd to stop and it feels like someone locked up the brakes when it goes into 1st.

I'm going to have them take a look at it next time I bring it in.

 

Umm..how slow are you going? I have a manual valvebody and mine will do the same thing if I downshift to first while doing anything over 10mph and not applying throttle. Does it do it if you have the Rpms up a bit? I NEVER goto first unless A) Im coasting very slowly/almost stopped... or B) Already slamming the throttle and using 1st to launch from a roll... usually below 35mph..

 

hahaha i beleive they dont know how to drive real manuals?? maybe thats why, you cant shift into first untill your going quite slow!! (if im wrong and theres really just something wrong with ur car, sorry)

 

hahahaha nothing Slexis... read before you bash..... we have Automatics with TipTronic.

We aren't shifting it into 1st. it's an auto and downshifts "automatically" when coming to a complete stop when in Tip mode.

you guys need to read before you act like you know something... did you completely miss the title of this post??

 

lol i love how they flame for no reason..... yes it AUTO downshifts to first..... not us.
