One thing that makes me love my Z makes me hate it in 2 new ways

Well I decided to let loose on my Z for the first real time yesterday.
I went up to my inlaws that live up in the mountains and have some great roads. So I finally got to test how she sticks.
2 new things I learned.
1. Too much electronics these days to help people that cant drive really kill performance. IMO VDC can be a great thing for someone a little more new to this kind of car and doesnt know the limits. I personally think the VDC is a little sensative in these cars. I hate how it cuts power sooo drastically when it senses slip. I rather keep it off.
Its not as drastic in my Pathfinder, but then again totally different beast.
disclaimer. . . . Please do not flame. I am used to cars with well over double the horsepower and much better handling. So there is no doubt I can handle whatever this thing can throw at me.
2. I dont care for the top end on the 07's. All this bragging that the 07's got a higher rev limit and more top end power. Honestly I am not impressed over 5k at all. Maybe I am used to big turbos and usually at that point I am hitting some serious boost? Boost withdrawal? I dunno, but the low end is to kill for. Top end is bleh!
I will say though overall I am super impressed with this car more and more as I drive it in the twisties.
My wife drove it home last night and romped on it much more then me and I could not believe how it hooked. Even on the stocker tires. They are decent, but deff not super great. But I am impressed none the less.
Now the next problem is all the time it took me to clean the bugs off the front end and windshield last night.
Im gonna try and find some local Auto X's to take this pig to and see how she fairs. i think it would be a fun road race car too. I cant believe my Drag Racing blood is growing thin. lol

+1 I agree. I get tired of having to turn VDC off every time I hop in...
These cars are very nice little sports cars for the price. You really can't beat the stock package they deliver for the cost. I would recommend possibly boosting your Z as it will open a whole new world of potential for your car (also give you that top end your looking for). I just got done riding in my buddies boosted G and he has sold me on going that route this winter. Anyway have fun with it and stay safe. I'm taking a trip in my Z to my Mom's next year and their area has sooo many twisties.

IN a way I want to boost it, but I wanted to get away from heavy modding. I dont stop once I get going. I go all out and then end up not driving the car anymore. I will attest I do sooo much, the car becomes not as much fun to drive.
I had a min of 300hp and good handling in mind when I was looking for a new car. Hoping that something in stockish form could hold me off the mod bug.
This car fit the picture. Im sure a little more flow in the exhaust could liven her up a little.
Overall Im surprised how much this thing impressed me so far. Even with it being a little heavy. There havent been many times I have felt the weight be an issue yet. Only on something a little tooo tight can you feel the weight of it.

I dont like to overdo it. I just like to hammer on it every now and then.

NA is the way to go in my opinion. I like the consistency and feel better than turbo. Supercharger might be an option too, though. But if you want to improve performance for that sort of driving, you have to love an NA Z.

thanks for the info. Usually I hit it with Mequires quick detail since they are fresh and new. Comes right off if you do it when they are still wet and splattered. lol
