Obviously you didn't see the Mythbuster episode about A/C vs windows down. The short answer is this - no, you don't get better gas mileage with the windows down and the A/C off. You get the best mileage with the windows up, regardless of the A/C on or off. The windows down is increased drag -- if you want better performance, roll the windows up and enjoy the A/C.
Don't believe everything you see on that show. Sometimes they doctor their statistics to mislead viewers.
The only time I have the AC on is when my girlfriend is in the car, she doesn't like the heat very much lol.
That's funny, cause I do the same thing, I prefer lower my windows to save gas, also in case any rejects look down on Z then I can give him a BEEEEACH Slap... 45/90/45 back hand..
that does not turn his AC on when it is 93+ outside, sweating my a** off, just because of the performance difference? I don't know if it's just my mind playing tricks on me but the car runs better IMO when the AC is not on. So I sacrifice my comfort for the Z lol, sad aint it? I am what you call a person who cares too much about his car .
I don't know where you live, but right now its about 95 and humid as hell here on a regular basis, the "feels like" temp is around 105 or so on some days, so when I leave work, my a/c is on full blast
It's 97 degrees in Miami @ 11 am... If i had to store another tank of gas in the rear just to keep the Ac on, i would. Otherwise i'd need to be rinsed out when i got into the office.
