that does not turn his AC on when it is 93+ outside, sweating my a** off, just because of the performance difference? I don't know if it's just my mind playing tricks on me but the car runs better IMO when the AC is not on. So I sacrifice my comfort for the Z lol, sad aint it? I am what you call a person who cares too much about his car

the only time i use AC is when i have a passenger and its really hot out. I don't feel like having them complain.
if its just me, both windows are ALWAYS down. I can't stand driving windows up, it kills the fun of the car IMO. Id rather sweat my ***** off.

The only time I have the AC on is when my girlfriend is in the car, she doesn't like the heat very much lol.
Obviously you didn't see the Mythbuster episode about A/C vs windows down. The short answer is this - no, you don't get better gas mileage with the windows down and the A/C off. You get the best mileage with the windows up, regardless of the A/C on or off. The windows down is increased drag -- if you want better performance, roll the windows up and enjoy the A/C.
ummm....I guess most of ya don't know about the drag the wind pulls on your car when your windows are down....if you're rolling at slow speed with the windows down, you're defeating the purpose of saving on fuel, and plus, there's no performance at slow speed...if you're going high speed with the windows down, your cabin actually creates drag on the car, thus, you LOSE performance. If you want the best performance, your windows have to be up to create aerodynamic.

To answer the question "am i the only person..." YES! lol, I think everyone else has enough common sense to use the damn ac instead of suffering for performance you wont need unless you're trying to race someone. especially when its 93+ outside...

Actually, while the second part of the test (that you refer to) showed the A/C using more power, a lot of the discussion seems to indicate that the test was not valid because of the comparison of two different vehicles. The computer test of conditions on the same vehicle showed no measurable difference with the A/C on.
my comment about "killing the fun of the car" has nothing to do with the performance difference or lack there of.
I just like the breeze in my face and the sounds of the car
we dont get the heat quite as bad in PA as some others, but it does get quite hot/humid in the summer.

I do not recall saying anything about getting better gas mileage. All I said was if there was any difference in the performance or that it was just my head. But I will try driving with the windows up and the AC on and see how that goes...

I agree it's more fun to tool around town with the windows down to feel fully immersed in the experience but don't think you are gaining any real world performance advantage. The A/C compressor clutch disengages when you go WOT. You may be feeling a bit of a drag at part throttle though.
