Got my baby back from the dealership

I picked my Z up from the dealership this afternoon. I took it because I thought the 3rd gear syncro was going bad, because it was grinding pretty badly if I tried to shift fast. They later called me and told me I was right on the money and that they ordered a new syncro and cluth.
I was surprised they were going to throw that in for free (under warranty work anyway). I took it in yesterday when they called me and they said the parts were in. They even gave me a service loaner (I'm 20) much to my surprise. Picked it up today and they said that replaced the whole transmission!
Good news for me. Shifts like butter today and didn't cost me a dime. Gotta love warranties.
One a side note, while I was waiting I looked at a red '07 and the salesmen popped the hood. Another one came over, the orginal salesman left and told the other guy to tell me about the new engine. This guy didn't know a thing about Zs.
I was like, so you are selling cars and you don't know a thing about what you are selling?
Anyways, good ol' Nissan took good care of me.

Uh they replaced the syncro in your tranny? That's hard to believe since most dealerships would just replace the entire tranny. It is more labor intensive to swap out a syncro than just replace the whole tranny. regardless glad you got your Z fixed.

I recently was at a Nissan dealership nearby and had a similar experience. Every salesman except for one had no damn clue about the differences in the new Z. One guy was like "Oh yeah it has a bigger motor in it now, really fast" another guy said "I believe they redesigned the interior and changed the wheels(because it was a GT and the 06' next to it had the reg. wheels
). I really dont know who is in charge of the training there but its pretty sad. I took the salesman on a test drive and showed him the differences, and he goes "wow you learn something new everyday"...
