just follow everyones advice in this thread, this was my first manual too and ive put about 400 miles on it, my 1-2 shift is sometimes jerky but for the most part is smooth. starting from a stop was the hardest part for me well keeping it smooth

I don't know if anybody mention this but don't let go of the gas as soon as you step on the clutch, you let go of the gas when you know you're about to reach your friction point. Doing it this way allow little time for the rpm to drop resulting in a smoother shift.

The rpm's drop way too slowly in the Z when engaging the clutch. I hate this (waiting for the engine to slow before doing the shift). You see the problem with the Z when comparing/driving a Porsche or 'vette.
