Default The HR is pretty quick

After 2 months i finally got almost 1200 miles on her. Well last night i decided to open her up a bit. Dropped it in 4th on the freeway and stomped on it. It honestly must have taken 3 seconds before i looked at the digital speedometer, 116 mph, damn i thought. The intakes sounds like CAIs. They are very loud and mean sounding, i can't wait for some real intakes to come out. The low end torque is really good, reminds me of the 03 that i drove a while back. The top end is insane though. It really pushes you back in your seat. Very similar to the last M3 i drove (03). The Z sounds very loud when getting up past 4K. Seems like with some decent tires high 12s would be possible. Just wanted to share my experience.

Default Really Big diference

I had an 03 and I have just gotten an 07(2mths ago) .... i took it out this weekend to orlando and I noticed that if you stretch 3rd to redline you'll hit 105mph..... I wish it wasn't controlled to 155 so I could push it harder....

The 07 I drove pulls nothing like my 03 with simple bolt-ons and it wasn't loud at all (by comparison I suppose)
Don't go crazy now. With slicks you might be able to get mid thirteens, it will take a lot more to get into the 12s

Thats wierd, i'm pretty sure the 07 will easily walk an 03 with bolt ons. We have a member that hit 13.3 stock, thats on stock tires too in his 07.

I hit 13.5 on stock tires in my 07 with a lot more room to go. I went 13.1 with dr's. high 12's is reality with a great driver

+1

The 07 must be very linear because my 03 pulls a lot harder than the HR engine , but i will admit, the 07 are a lot smoother. It kinds sounds wierd passing 6.5rpm because i'm not use to hearing past that.

The 07's power just makes me smile i had bolt ons on my 03 touring and other go mods. And i got to say the 07 is just as fast or faster only diff the 03 sounded louder the 07 is much more smoother.Ive seen nothing but 13.3/13.4 1/4 times i cant wait to see what it does with bolt ons and some other mods easy mid 12's.

People have run 13.3 with slipping clutches. 12's is possible with tires(DR's), stop posting misinformation

You do realize a 100% stock '07 hit a 13.3, right?

*EDIT* Beat to the punch.

Why not? They took it in the previous years. They're the same axles that people run 12's and 11's on with boost, nitrous etc.

Im not all that impressed with the top end to tell you the truth. But Im used to turbo cars.
The low end and mid range is unreal though. Makes me smile all the time.

The 07 haters need to get with it. Lucky to hit mid 13's? lol. what a joke

+1 my axles have taken it with no issues, and will continue to fight for traction at 1 bar of boost...

Guess you need to buy some new axles then since you claim your car to be faster. Yes there are some fast bolt on 03-06 thats quicker then the 07 but to say you have to be lucky to hit 13.5's is ignorant. I can pull a 13.5 granny shifting the car.

The 2007 has been kicking my butt in the Top 25 100% stock down to the tire.
