The HR is pretty quick

The HR is pretty quick
After 2 months i finally got almost 1200 miles on her. Well last night i decided to open her up a bit. Dropped it in 4th on the freeway and stomped on it. It honestly must have taken 3 seconds before i looked at the digital speedometer, 116 mph, damn i thought. The intakes sounds like CAIs. They are very loud and mean sounding, i can't wait for some real intakes to come out. The low end torque is really good, reminds me of the 03 that i drove a while back. The top end is insane though. It really pushes you back in your seat. Very similar to the last M3 i drove (03). The Z sounds very loud when getting up past 4K. Seems like with some decent tires high 12s would be possible. Just wanted to share my experience.

Really Big diference
I had an 03 and I have just gotten an 07(2mths ago) .... i took it out this weekend to orlando and I noticed that if you stretch 3rd to redline you'll hit 105mph..... I wish it wasn't controlled to 155 so I could push it harder....

Don't go crazy now. With slicks you might be able to get mid thirteens, it will take a lot more to get into the 12s

The 07 must be very linear because my 03 pulls a lot harder than the HR engine , but i will admit, the 07 are a lot smoother. It kinds sounds wierd passing 6.5rpm because i'm not use to hearing past that.

Im not all that impressed with the top end to tell you the truth. But Im used to turbo cars.
The low end and mid range is unreal though. Makes me smile all the time.
The 07 haters need to get with it. Lucky to hit mid 13's? lol. what a joke
