I have read a lot of threads where 350Z drivers complain about the treatment they get from other drivers, ranging from challenging them to race to tailgating or even worse. I've never had anything like that happen to me. I am 70 and wonder if that has something to do with it. Maybe it has to do with living in Tucson. Whatever. Based on your experience, do you feel that drivers of a certain age or age range get more of a rise out of drivers who come in contact with then on the open rode?

 

Nope, pass them all up in my explorer. Because reguardless of the age I have yet to see a 350z 1 mph above the speedlimit in Dallas

Most of the time its a good 5+ slower than the posted speed. lol

Bob if I saw a 70 year old driving around town in a Z I would give him a big thumbs up

If the guy looks younger than my underwear.. not so much.

 

I think it depends more on how fixed up your car is.
Bodykit, CF panels, loud exhaust etc..
It's usually young douches in their riced out Civics and stuff that'll try to hate.
I usually get compliments from EVO, S2K owners, etc.

 

I only seem to get reaction out of the younger crowd and especially the drive through chicks at restaurants. hmmm if only I was single..

 

I get alot of hate from honda civic crowd between reving and trying to be cut off.

 

I get some bad looks because I am 20 with a Z, but most of the time people give me the thumbs up, or will approach me and ask me about the car.. But to those people that give me bad looks, They are just made because I am more successful than they are at such a young age! Ho hO!

I do too, I am also 20. Its wierd how some people can give you bad looks because of sucsess. Jealousy?

 

In Southern California it seems like every other car is a Nissan 350Z. From kids,adults, and grandparents they seem to all like driving these cars. One day this lady asked if I liked my drilled rotors, (don't go there) told her to test drive them not me and see for herself. Enough said...Great cars!

Haha just messing with you. I'm 25 and I never get hassled. There are a TON on Z's here in Phoenix. My Z is bone stock so it doesn't draw a lot of attention.

I think the more financially minded people see cars as a liability. I see a guy driving an expensive MB I think nice car, but definitely not a nice payment. I'll pass.

People think a car exudes success, but in reality it oftentimes shows a lack of one's ability to manage money.

I am in mortgages and I recently saw a picture of a 900K house that was in foreclosure. In the front of said house was a Bentley! Now you see that guy driving around, you would think "man I wish I was that guy." The car you drive often says nothing about how successful you are.

 

I normally don't have anyone trying to mess with me here in Phoenix either. I get the occasional idiot in a cobalt or something similar rev at me, but I just laugh it off and keep driving. Most of the attention I get is positive... people at gas stations asking about the car, pulling up to a light and asking about the car, etc....

When I was at UofA everyone down there was really laid back too, I had a pretty well modded car at the time and never got hassled, unless I was out late and near Speedway where all the ricers were cruising, then I'd get hassled.

 

Only had the car for a week and i've noticed that i'm getting treated differently. Alot of SUV's and trucks have been riding my *** alot more than with previous vehicles. Been cut off already a few times by a couple of 4 door sedans.

 

Positive attention here. (Mid-50's, reasonably attractive woman. OK, OK, let's make that "for my age!!" )

Anyway - I get people commenting sometimes in parking lots, especially if I have the top down, or gas stations. Anyplace I can park and someone happens to see it I'll get nice looks or sometimes a conversation. Sometimes they smile at the license plate (vanity plate with a pun).

Don't get challenged to race. My car is stock and, well, you know, mature woman and all, the boy racers aren't going to want to mess around with someone who looks like their mama.

Haven't had any negative reactions yet. Mostly positive ones from kids, domestic guys, bikers, truckers, soccer moms, fellow car enthusiasts...

Occasionally I'll get the ricer-fly by from an econo or big SUV that doesn't really stand a chance, but I know it's just all in fun.

I guess it's all in the demeanor. If you are respectful and relaxed, you get that in return.

 

yea its really silly when people try to race you. I just sit back, relax and cruise the streets. I'm not in a hurry to get anywhere- be easy

 

I am 52 and dont get hassled at all when I am in the car. The only thing I notice is people do tailgate me...especially the yahoos in pickup trucks..it gets irritating after a while.

 

nope. most young people in the military have nicer cars so im no different. but i get compliments ALL the time. they never get old.

 

I get hasseled for no front plate by cops
&
I get hasseled by jerks on the freeway who cut me off and do ricer fly bys, those I hate the most.
