Default Does Your Driver Side Door Close On Its Own?

I was curious if other poeple had the same problem as my '03 does. Does anyone elses damn door close for them most of the time? I wont lie, it is more of a conveinence to me most of the time because i dont have to close my own door, but occasionally the damn thing will come swinging shut right on my leg. Pisses me off nasty, was wondering if the feeling was mutual?

I think it is the weight of the door that causes it to close. I think they weigh over 100 lbs each. I'm thinking carbon fiber.

and it really picks up some speed when you're parked on an incline with the driver's side door on the upside.

Yes. If the front of the car is parked on an incline, the doors can swing shut. One day some member will get a leg broken.

When asked, I just refer to it as the self closing door option. Cost an extra $400.

Yes, your door doesn't like it when your leg gets in the way, either. Have you ever had the smooth, satisfying feeling of your actuator sliding into a door receptacle? Then just think if something stuck itself in the way.

C*ck bl*cked FTL.

Yes and it sucks, because I love to open the door, swing a leg out, then turn back in to grab whatever it is i'm carrying to take inside. A bad habit that now i'll have to break or continue to suffer the consequences, a bruised shin. Mine's an 05 btw.

'05 does it too. Wish the door-stops were a little more effective.

Are you cars named "Christine"?

There are three cam type notches that should keep the door from closing when about a third, 2/3s and wide open. Unless you park on an incline, the door shouldn't close if you open it to one of these three positions.
I don't know if the mechanism is adjustable.

I broke my window because I just got in the car and I had my arm hanging up (had a cigarette in my hand) between the window and the body of the car....fuqing wind caught the door as it was shutting and it slammed on my arm, breaking the glass along the bottom of the window by the weather pieces on the door panel.
