the next big 350z mod....
with all the confusion, engine swaps, etc... wouldnt you think that the next big mod for z's down the road would be to swap in the new gtr vq in place of the standard z's motor? its output is about what a tt's vq motor would be at, but alot more reliable, seeing as its "factory". along w/ the motor, the tranny, etc, as well. only downfall would be the price of an almost new motor/drivetrain/ecu. but i dont think it would be that bad of an option seeing as it probably has alot more potential as its 450hp stock and can probably handle upwards of 550whp on a stock block safely. just an idea. what do you guys think?

lol, being a previous honda owner, I used to think every motor fits in every model of vehicle. I was sorta thinking motor drop from the Skyline, but chances are it's gonna take much more work than putting a B18 in a civic

I think its safe to say it will be easier to buy an aftermarket turbo kit, and call it a day..
no, its a variation of the same vq motor, so itll be easier than lets say, trying to swap in an rb26, or even an ls series motor. the setup is very similar to the z's. its a stock turbo setup so i would assume internals wastegates, etc. but the point being that the stock block can probably handle upwards of 600whp, as opposed 2 spending all of that on a built vq. just a suggestion. i can almost guarantee that the gtr motor is gonna be on alot of z owners to do list.
