Default Need to cancel my order

Well as sad as it may be, I am going to have to cancel my order. Although the dealer order states my deposit is non-refundable, I wonder if anyone has any experience in these matters.

Also, if anyone would like the position, it's available at no cost. The car is a LeMans Sunset/Burnt Orange Touring 6-speed with Nav, Mats, Splash Guards and, Kick Plates. The price is MSRP (no markup). The dealer is in Atlanta.

Please email me at chet@calalpa.org if your are interested and with any information regarding cancelling an order.

Z&Jet-Pilot, join the club I made a post similar to yours a couple of weeks ago. True to my nature, I have procrastinated telling my dealer so I don't know what will happen to my "nonrefundable" deposit of $1,000. One bit of leverage we have is that they benefit from our cancellation by having the ability to mark up from MSRP when our car arrives. Good luck to both you and myself

Not to "compete" with Z&Jet but mine is a chrome silver touring 5AT w/ mats and kickplates @ MSRP in Columbia, SC (if anyone's interested). On second thought, that's not really competing--we ordered totally opposite cars

I work at a Nissan dealership in PA (Devon Nissan...shameless plug) and our $1000 deposit is also non-refundable. HOWEVER, how do you say...."The squeaky wheel get's the grease"???? I am sure if you complain to the General Manager or Nissan itself, you'll get your money back. The reason being is we will still have the car coming in and can mark it up as much as we want, therefore your $1000 is nice, but not necessary.

Hope this clears things up.

My advice would be to take delivery anyway and then sell the car privately for the extra $3-5K. It really is a no lose situation.

Let me know if there are any other questions I can answer.

Thanks for the advise! I have already been in touch with Nissan and will be contacting the dealer right after I go over the situtation with my rep there.

I hate to be the squeaky wheel..but sometimes one has to do what one has to do.

Thanks again for the info.

I think your better off being a squeeky wheel, so to speak. I can't see anyone paying MSRP for a "used" car, much less 3-5K over...

Best of luck, and sorry to hear you're having to back out of the deal... hopefully you can get one later?

Seems a bit strange to imagine but I do think someone will be willing to purchase that car above MSRP. I know there will be those who will want it now and not want to wait 6 months. Especially if they have the money to blow. Good luck with that buddy... I think it will sell..

i was actually thinking about putting my car for sale right when i get it. I guess my thinking on it was that if i can make a quick 10-12 thousand dollars(hopefully) it would pay off. See, i live in an area where everyone wants to have the best toy first. Even though a majority of these people could less about the mechnicals of the car.

Sorry to hear you guy's have to give up on your cars. Maybe later in life you can get the 350ZR

Dvlad,

Your probably better off selling your option - sell the right to use your deposit. It's a sure thing, where as trying to sell the car at a profit is a gamble... a risky one. Just my opinion of course, and worth every sent you didn't have to pay for it!
