Default Nissan keys are ugly,,,Anyone interested in keys like this...?

i think nissan should've made different keys to distinguish the 350Z's...besides, the nissan keys are pretty ugly (imo)...i don't feel special when I hold them ...i remember a while back on s2ki.com people were thinkin this about their s2k's keys...someone came up with a solution (pic below)...anyone know somebody that can hook this up for the 350Z?

always the option of taping the top of the key to the steering column. and then you can use any key you want...

no one sees my keys anyway, so doesnt matter to me.

or cut a little hole in the japanese keys, and glue the chip inside it. I bet if we got a bunch of those keys we could get them for a real good price.

Who really cares? I mean come on, have most totally run out of things to do?

Not that anyone really cares about this either, and I'm not trying to put anyone down but does anyone agree that this might be the last straw as far as people that have run out of things to post?

WTF? Who cares what the key looks like. It's either in my pocket, in the ignition, or in a drawer at home.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, my dear... But really, no one cares! And you shouldn't either. And yes, I'm putting this down.

I care. I feel like people are looking at my keys all the time when I'm not driving. Plus it's a cool thing to have, as for myself. I used to have a cool Integra Type-R key for my previous car.

I care as well. It would be great if there was another thing that sets the Z apart from all the other cars, like a individualized key. Personally, I'd like to see the black part of the key somewhat shaped like a Z and maybe silver or something like that. I don't know, just throwing ideas out, but it would be cool!

Contact Rick Hesel at www.rick'saccessories.com. He is a friend of mine and makes top quality S2000 products---I had most of them!

I am with you, I care too. Our key & keyfob is pretty ugly. My friend ordered an S2000 key from Japan, and had to cut and glue the chip from his original to the new one. We would probably have to do the same.

I will tell you that one of the many very cool things about that cars was the Titanium key that you received with each car.

In fact these are a very hot commodity now, people sell their titanium keys for $200+ on ebay.

It wouldn't take or cost much.....I too would like to see something better for the "Z".

Isnt this the reason they invented keychains?

Ill have to agree that this is one of the most pointless threads Ive seen. Im calling BS on those who say its not because they have nothing better to do.

Uh, oh. Almost a touchy-feely thread. "I don't feel special when I hold [the keys]." What do you intend to do, flash your keys at happy hour or something? Compare keys with the next guy. See who has the biggest key or something?

For those who are characterized to pay attention to detail, the key is actually a significant part of the car. As markz mentioned, and knowing first hand considering my bro drives a '95 Fairlady, the key does add to the car's detail, apart from the car itself.

IMO, a sweet look'n key would have been nice. My folks own an E430 Sport and anyone who's seen the keys to that car (friends, family, co-workers) had to comment on its ingenuity.

Just my fitty-cent to this thread.

Those keys are made and sold by Rick Hesel, he is a top notch guy with great service.

I would be interested in Z badged key stickers as well. If there is enough interest, I can contact Rick for us 350zers. I was one of the original S2000 owners and so was Rick so I can email him to see if he is interested in doing something for us. Just PM me or post here.

Thanks

Sev

I did that with one of my s2000 keys in the old days. I got a japanese key, drilled and cut the chip into the jap key. It worked great.

However the above picture one is a 2 minute install. It will just stick onto the existing key and it would be as good as an original one.

When Rick Hesel releases a product, it's a damn good one.

I think the coolest key out there is the Corvette key. When you get close to your car or you are walking away from it, it locks and unlocks.

I just like gadgets.

I got an alarm system installed that has that option.

I have it disabled though since I would rather do the locking unlocking with the button...
