Red always seems to fade due to the pigment. Especially non-clearcoated red Toyota used to use in the 90s.

Anyone in this thread that believes a class action over the paint will happen is part of a circle jerk.

While I cannot show proof that Nissan does in fact sell vehicles with sub-standard paint, I can say that I'm a little concerned with the appearance of my Z after 30K miles. This may be in part due to poor driving habits, increased congestion on highways, or simply a case of misfortune. It's certainly not a case of proper care, as I have applied numerous coats of Zaino and use a "black bra" for the bumper. In retrospect, the clear bra kit would certainly have been the more ideal choice. For those of you with this setup, what issues if any have you encountered? In terms of repainting the vehicle, what recommendations are there for the number of coats of clearcoat? I know that paint is not damage proof, but I would like an improvement on the next go around...

Doesnt matter. You're driving around with a freakin black car bra!
35,000 miles of looking at that ****. No thanks, CHACHING $500!

Whats the point of protecting the fron end if you have to look at the unsightly beard for 35,000 miles?

$500 bucks and Aerospace 303 protectant once every 2 months and you're set.

Oh ya, the clear bras protect the side mirrors and lights.
You could do like me and only install your bra for just freeway running. That is where all the chips happen. Over 45mph. My bra is installed only about 50%of the time. Heck, I can't see the bra while I'm driving anyways so what do I care? I didn't buy the car for others to appreciate ... I'm probably different there. I bought it as a good driving machine to replace my DD 300zxt.

The Colgan bra looks better on than off my wife thinks. But, that might just be my car with blacked out windows, frame and rear spoiler. For years, enthusists have used them to protect there paint from gravel trucks etc...

What I don't like about the 3M is the yellowing and the cut mark it places across your hood. At that same 10ft it take to make that line disappear you won't see any rock chips anyways imo.

For my $100 vs $500-800 for a clear bra. I'll go the former. I can buy some nice performance mods or repaint the hood twice for that $500-800.

Oh course .... to each his own ... but, I'd rather repaint the hood with quality paint job @ $300 than to cough up money for a clear bra that costs big buck to take off, repaint, and replace after it yellows, cracks or peal. If you are only planning on keeping your car 4-5 years it's a good option. I keep my car 20 years + so..... I'll go with Colgan.

The Colgan also protects your front end from those parking bumps as well. My car has been tapped twice. I thought for sure it would have messed up the paint. It would have with clear bra. But, not even a marr with the bra on there. SF is a parking nightmare.

A car wreck wasnt properly cleaned up on the interstate and i was following a semi truck, he blew through the lane full of broken glass pretty much sandblasting my front end

.......driving the other day (right after waxing it), landscaper was blowing leaves near the side of the road. I hear a few ticks, dont think anything of it. I get home, and ANOTHER chip on the door. Unbeliveable. Ive owned a dozen cars, and had alot more than leaves blown into the side of them, and never had the F-ing paint come off from it.....cheap crap on this car unfortunately.

Nissan Paint Sucks for sure! I've had my Z for 6 months and have 4 decent size rock chips. My buddies Altima looked like somebody blasted the front end with a shotgun a bunch of times. Here's my latest. Friggin huge! you can see it from 10 feet away. Argh
