LOL, yeah it's just like that...
You sound like one of those people that may have to compensate for a lack of something in another area.

What I don't have is extra weight and frills. I do not like buttons on my steering wheel. It's okay on my Escalade but I've never owned a performance car with them. I specifically did not want leather seats. I do not like them. I stick to the leather and I did not want all the power adjustable stuff and again, I did not want the extra weight.
I have no need for cruise in this car. It will never be used for a road trip of any length and if for some reason it is I will just do it the old fashioned way and drive the damn car myself. That is also the reason I absolutely do not want any electronic drive aids. I didn't have them on my 280ZX or my Porsche 930 Turbo or even my BMW E30 M3 and I surely do not need them on my 350Z. I know how to drive. I also am experienced enough to know when it's raining to slow down. I am a smooth driver with good car control. I used to drive my Vette in the snow with no problems. If you want or need these driver aids then more power to you. But don't bag on me or my car because I choose not to pay for something I don't need.
I just can't understand where you would say my car is like a V6 Mustang. You must be young and immature or just an idiot. I have the exact same engine and driveline as the most expensive Z less LSD.
My plans for the car include LSD, Brembo brakes, forged alloy wheels and then engine upgrades.
You go ahead and keep thinking your car is better than all others. I'm sure that is what your little ego needs to feel better. I don't need a car to stroke my ego.
To everyone else- We all own Z cars. I like each of them the same and never would I think I'm superior to any others. Truth be told, I still wish they made the Track model for 2007 and I am jealous of anyone that has one. They are great looking cars that give excellent performance for the money and we should be proud to be part of a special family. I've always loved Z cars and I'm glad to own another one after 12 years without one.

The VLSD sucks anyway.
The VLSD sucks anyway.

Out of 85 posts, 1 single post that sounds like a Base hater, 4 jest posts on the base(brought about by this stupid thread) and 1 debatable jest-or-not.
On the other hand there were many posts by base owners accusing non-base owners as haters, putting down options that people bought, and trying to justify their decision that needs no justification. Which group has haters in it?
This isn't about the models, it's about some people. Those with humor and those without.

idiot
It's mostly irrelevent what model you have if you're modding.
Only matters if you're not moding if you have the most fragile of egos and need you're car to reassure you of your self woth.
... and a very small *****.

Remember Newton's law that Force = Mass * Acceleration... therefore acceleration = (Force)/(Mass). Considering that a "loaded" model weighs 1415kg and a base model weighs 1406kg (Approximately 100 pounds weight difference), and the 350Z has 371.49 Newton-meters of Torque, the difference in accelerations only comes out to a .0075% difference. In reality, that means absolutely nothing unless you are drag racing somebody with equal driving skills as yourself. There's no need to fritter about 100 or so pounds because quite frankly, it doesn't make a difference.

Key word is "me" thus the reason you bought a different model. Enjoy your car and don't worry about anyone else.

Not me, but I still love HIDs and my leather seats.
But I don't diss on the base models. Heck, my first one was a base. I just prefer my Touring.
