I just want to know why everyone(exception of those who dont) is always hating on the base model.......i mean WTF. i have a base model . looks just as good,goes just as fast(if not faster) and is still a 350z. yeah it doesnt have the stupid auto dimming rearview for you Fru fru types. and it doesnt have traction control( which all of you normally turn off ,and complain about, so thats actually a positive, in addition making it more fun to drive..gotta live life on the edge. I just want to give out a big F%ck you to anyone hating on the base. I love mine and wouldnt trade it for anything else.

actually this makes you seem even more insecure. its funny because most people that bring this topic up are base owners. base owners who post threads to justify why they bought base models. you dont see people posting why they bought touring/enthusiast/track/performance models do you? nothing wrong with base model as long as you are happy with it. im not envious of touring owners nor do i look down on base owners. im just tired out base owners talking smack about how their cars are superior with less.

 

I don't think mine is superior, I think all Z's are great cars, everything from the first Z's (260's) to now (350's)

what about the post people put up and say

I'm trading in my 350z because I have to put too much money into the 350Z to make it go fast.

Ex I saw on here a guy trading in his 350Z sports car for a Mazada 3 FWD Car

I just bought the 07 base model - it's a no brainer for the money. If someone wants to spend 6 grand more for a couple of BS options that's their own decision.

 

i dont think its superior. i'm just tired of reading posts that seem to downplay the base. I love the base and all the other trims too. i just get a little offended sometimes. not insecure. acctually i could have bought touring but the base i found is in brand new condition and was a great deal ( where as the touring was beat to hell) and i didnt want allthe ammenities, my last car had em, and i already had my fix or leather and gizmos and such. No hating on bases Ok?

 

i still dont get people who sell their cars right after they dump a huge amount of money into it. maybe after they are done, they get bored since there is nothing else left to do to it?

a lot of people trade in their Z's for more practical cars. families and Z's usually dont mix well.

 

hahaha i have a base and i dont give a **** what most other owners say ( enth...track..grandtourin....ext ) because mine is usually faster than most anyway haha! :-D

 

from 03 to 05, i think the enthusiast is a no brainer over the base for $1500 more. 06 to 07 that is debatable.

 

Hammer - the 1st Z car was the 240, not the 260. 1970, and before that they had the Datsun Roadster which is a cool little roadie. and for the OP -nothing wrong at all with the base.

 

I don't hate bases but I wouldn't buy one. Enthusiast is much better IMAO. You get VLSD, which seems pretty important to me. I have my traction control and only turn it off when I'm racing, but I would miss it whenever it rained. I can agree, who cares about auto-dimming mirros? Not me, but I still love HIDs and my leather seats.

 

i just think we should see the Z like the constitution, "ALL Z's CREATED EQUAL" lol. if i had bought a new one off the lot, i might have bought enthusiast but i didnt, i bought used and when ya do that, gotta find the best bang for your buck.

 

I always sell cars right after I build them. I guess the fun is over once you cannot do anything else. or you realize you wasted alot of money on a stupid car. Im still trying to beat that bug. lol

Honestly performance wise, the base, or even the Enth is the better to get. A little lighter do to less toys and such.
I wanted the Touring though because I love leather. The seats with the orange stitching match my car great. The Boses is pretty damn nice, and whatever other little toys it has like the Homelink and Bluetooth.
I am a gadget guy.
If they still made like a track version or something with Brembos and lighter Rays wheels, but without the other glitz in the 07's, I would have gotten that. I would have given up the leather and Bose for Brembos and nicer wheels

I love it, a guy with the nym "z stud" throws a temper tantrum because somebody doesn't like base Zs.

BTW - while the auto-dimming mirror isn't an essential, I can tell you that it's a lot bigger than the mirror from the base model.
