For me, and 90% of other people who don't own Z's it doesn't matter. I laugh when I see the ego trip in the signatures "Enter irrelevant color code here-followed by trim that most people don't know, or care about, followed by weak excuse for modification*think floor mats*"

I'm thinking of doing the exact same thing, just going with a base model Z, then getting an aftermarket vlsd, because really thats the only thing missing in a base model.

Leather = luxury.. who cares.
traction = for people that dont know how to control a car.
etc.

I mean for the price used base models are going its worth buying a base and upgrading it, rather than buying a "higher" model.

I have a 06 Base. Got it because it was cheap. I Spent about $300 and traded my seats for OEM leather seats. I have everything that I need and nothing that I don't. LSD and traction control just add weight to the car IMO. I'm careful when it rains and that keeps me safe. The 350z is a great car regardless.

Now people that want to make a drag car always buy the v6 mustang. Why? Because all they care about is the body and all the factory stuff was going to get replaced anyways.

Mustang v6= base model, cheapest, no options, intended for the people who like the looks but don't care about the performance

Mustang GT= middle model, more expensive, good options, intended for people with performance in mind

are you on crack? So your saying base model owners bought the cars for looks alone? lmaoooooooooooo. If this thing ran 16's i woulda never even gave it a chance.

LSD does not add weight. It replaces the open differential and improves performance.

No offense to you, but I know a handful of Touring guys who couldn't go any other model even if they wanted to.

I have never been insulted by having a base, nor has anyone ever said anything degrading about it, maybe its just me,i got Exactly what i wanted.i thought it would be a waste of money to buy options i didnt want or have plans to replace.

Weird I have had my car for only 3 days here at work, and I get more compliments on my 07 so than I had on my 05 ss. And I have not even lowered or slapped on my V2front bumper and 19inch gunmetal volks ; )
