Default my 2006 Z with/ 67k miles

Yes that right I purchased it Jan 06 and have put 67k miles on it. I just wanted to share my experiences whether good or bad for all those who may be considering purchasing a Z. Well first off I always felt cars are meant to be driven. I bought my Z and I intended to get the most out of it. So I enjoyed using it every day.

The Bad:
1. I have experienced the gas filler problem and yes it is very annoying. One thing I noticed is that it only occurs at certain gas stations. So I just don't go to those.

2. Oil consumption-I do my oil changes my self regularly every3-5k miles as time permits. So I do notice oil consumption. Not sure exactly how much but it does.

3. Front bumper chips- Not really a surprise. i lowered the Z too so that just makes it worse. We'll just say it feels very rough in the front when you touch it. Oh well not a big deal.

4. Grease lines on the windows-I just clean it off

The Good:
1. Gas mileage- Don't get me wrong it's not a hybrid. But I average 24 miles per gallon at every fill up when I calculate it. And to me that's not bad for this type of car.

2. Comfort-I only put GF210 Tanabe springs, but with a 2hr 15min commute I find the Z very comfortable. For reference I am only 5'4" though so that may be a factor.

3. Performance-Just the right amount. All I put was a motordyne spacer, nismo exhaust, and k&n drop in filter. I find it perfectly enjoyable.

4. Price-I got the base model. But since the Z has such a wide range of models and options it is accessible to the everyday person.

I hope this helps those thinking about a Z. The good list actually goes on forever , but got to stop it somewhere. But as you can see no major mechanical problems, just pure enjoyment for 67k miles.

Update-Pics always make a thread better so I added one. Thanks for reading.

thanks guys yes it's a lot of miles, but I am proud of each one. I feel so proud of our car. It's reliable, stylish, and honestly afforadable enough that everyday people can experience the enjoyment of a sports car. I know that there are a lot out there, but I'm happy to see people being able to have the same joy I have.

.
do you need to add oil between each oil change? if so, how much oil? i notice the oil level stays the same between oil change if i stay away from synthetic oil.

That's some serious driving friend. I think you win the

Average mile per year award.

Worthwhile post.

Actually I don't which I know can be bad. Right now I use Mobil 1 Synthetic so i wonder if thats one more reason for the consumption. I have been tempted to change to royal purple or another full synthetic oil, but since i change oil so often it would cost and arm and a leg. I have been contemplating adding the JWT oil pan spacer to increase the capacity to 6 quarts.

I really hope that huge commute is well worth the job. I couldnt imagine making 50K/year only to be cut in a third by gas money. Nice review though, Im glad the Z has been reliable for you. I think with proper upkeep and maintenance, these cars can easily last 150K-200K. Within another year, youll be there too. I bought my 06 G coupe 6MT April of 06, and I only have 15K miles.

Good review. That's a lot of miles. I'm trying to hit 300k since i know this car could take it easily then have a good reason to build the motor.

Good to see someone really driving and enjoying the Z and not trying to preserve it like it's a classic Ferrari.
