Default shift light in your auto??

alright well it didnt occur to me the other day while i was playing in some curves around the lake with my AT slid over into the slapshift side of the auto
but man a shift light would come in handy
keeping both eyes on the road infront of you in the curves is an important thing especially around the lakes here in kentucky as deer tend to venture out into the road
but a small shift light mounted descretely somewhere on the dash (not the huge kind) could actually prove usefull
somewhere around the guage panel so you wouldnt have to glance at the tach but rather catch the light in periphreal vision
my car is one that dosent have the built in shift light soooo

how many of you guys have thought about this other than me?
seems legit, and please refrain from the "you have an auto dont try and make it a MT" talk

Seriously. Just buy an MT. I hate people like you, trying to be like us MT owners. GTFO.

I thought that light is 4 people who doesn't really know when to shift as a reminder...or when they learn how to drive...
I have one, mess with it sometimes, never even look at it when racing.

Mines an auto and I use triptronic 95% of the time....I hardly ever look at the tach. I can hear when its time to shift, you don't need a light. And if you're taking the time to look up there anyway, might as well just use the actual tach...

I've got an AT, too. Hey, guys. Don't hate on the AT Zs. We can always shift faster than you, no matter how hard you try! While my car's stock at the moment, I've got a buddy with an '04 Corvette, pushing 480 to the rear wheels. It's also an automatic, and he's beaten numerous cars with more power simply because the car shifts fast as hell. But, yeah, I agree there's nothing quite like a six speed. Lol... But, while a shift light is nice, it's better to just listen for it. Only instance I can think of where I'd need one is if I've got my music really loud, but that's stupid to be tackling corners while doing that anyway. If you want one, it shouldn't be very hard to hook one up to the tach.

A shift light is great when racing other vehicles, especially big blocks with open headers.

I know at least one 5AT G35 owner that has a shift light.

this thread is stupid. don't be like the honda boys. next thing you know the AT people will be throwing a huge tach on the dash as well. i mean c'mon, i have a 5AT and would never use a light, simply because it is not needed at all, period. but if you want to do it, please post pics so we all can have good laugh. crap like that ranks up there with puffy leather seats or a shift boot on a 5AT

I thought we all got over the 5AT vs. MT ****. He just made a suggestion. Don't like it? Don't respond, let alone read the rest of it.
