Default oil change place idiots...

Wow is all i have to say yesterday went to my school to finish getting some paperwork. On the way home i stopped to get my oil changed had a busy day and not enough time on my own. So im sitting in my car, assuming the oil has been drained the guy comes over and pours 4.5 quarts in the car. the guy under the car says, you didnt already add on 2 did you? So now i have 9.5 quarts of oil in my car. Thank god i didnt start it or anything or their would have been **** to pay. So they drain it out again, The guy adds exactly 4.5 quarts. I ask him hey dude did you change the oil filter too? He replies yes. So i say then put the rest of my oil in my car im paying for. He was like, z's only take 4.5 quarts so i got the manual out and showed him what was up. Then said that i would never come back and nobody i know would ever be back to this place. Paid my ticket and left. I will never let anybody touch my car again, i will do all my work now and make time for it. Sorry rants over people are idiots though i dont know how they get jobs.

Reasons like this are EXACTLY why I change my own oil.

You would be better off taking it to bob howard since it's right there. I won't take my car there anymore though. They've pissed me off one too many times.

It's so easy to do. If you don't want to do it yourself, find a place that's reliable. That shouldn't be too hard now.

I've only had someone else change my oil twice. Once I went to Jiffy Lube because of the snow and I didn't have a garage at the time. They managed to strip my drain plug clean trying to use SAE wrenches on a metric plug. The other time I was on a driving vacation that went over 3000 miles and stopped at a Speedy Auto. They changed the oil but didn't tighten the filter. After another 200 miles or so it started blowing oil past the filter on the highway. You'ld think that places that specialize in such a simple procedure could get it right.

I've owned 19 vehicles and have done around 450 oil changes on my vehicles. I will never, under any circumstances, have anyone else change my oil. It's just too easy to get it right doing it yourself.

+1 on changing it yourself. Only takes 15 mins. You probably sat there that long waiting for them to screw it up.

I use my in-ground storm shelter (built into the foundation in my garage) to do my oil changes. The hardest part is removing the doors to the shelter because they are solid steel. Next biggest pita is removing the plastic panel on the bottom. Other than that it's a breeze.

good to see all the okies in here. Well i normally do my oil changes myself but i had a job to finish up on location in edmond. I had about 30 minutes before i had to meet my dad up there. Its a 30 minute drive to where i live. So i decided to go ahead and take a chance didnt figure even a moron could screw up an oil change, boy was i wrong. So before you jump to conclusion i just flat out didnt have time that day and needed to kill some time. Figured it was a good idea but that wont happen again. Im gonna Get on nismokc didnt even know about it till now.

if you dont have a choice i would rather get it done at a nissan dealer. Their are a few places i would trust just that place is nice and i figured they would know how to change oil. Theirs a place down by my house where my rents have taken theirs for years they do great. Do you live in an appartment? if not you can borrow tools from oreilys most of the time you only need about 3 tools for the job just for your info.

^^^I'll make sure not to go to Oklahoma and get my Oil changed then... lol even tho im in SOCAL Seriously though its not hard to change the oil in the Z. It might take you a little while the first and second time but it only gets easier after that. It takes me about 15 to 20 minutes to do now and it will only get faster. but hey if you mess anything up you can only blame it on yourself so Finding a reputable place like a Dealer would be ideal.

Make an INVESTMENT in gaining the tools and knowledge to do it yourself. If you apply this concept to each little project that comes up you're abilities will expand not only in automotive maintenence but in other aspects as well.

What tools? You should be able to change your oil with only a crescent hammer and a bucket. To make life even easier, just invest in one of these to replace the oil plug, Fram makes them, you just need to find the correct size for your car, they're called "Sure Drain." Once this is installed, you don't even need a wrench.

I don't think the op was posting to warn people of this particular place.... more or less just venting on bad service...
