I got screwed by a Nissan Dealership here in houston(what the hell Mc David NIssan) and like venom said I love my Z but never dealing with nissan again , i'll be going back to honda.(But keeping the Z..lol). And for Andy , you tried your best to help him out , but think of it this way..how can you still work for a company that admits fault but wont go the extra mile to satisfy a customer.
Buying two wheels instead of one? C'mon that chump change to them.

FYI, might want to clear up your posts or others may think there's other personal sentiments in the post as well.... Remember, it's a forum, it's easy to mis-read intentions....

Its not as simple as the company paying for it, it comes out of service dept's paychecks, so its like if came out of your own pocket not the companies. If the company was paying it would be as simple as opening a checkbook. If you were in the other side of the table, would you want to pay for 2 expensive wheels out of your paycheck?

The person responsible for the damage is probably going to get fired. As for paying for the wheels... I doubt it's coming out of employee's pockets. You don't think large (or small) corporations would go that extra mile to deny you? Look at our health care system.

It's funny to me how many of you stand up for these large faceless corps (sorry Andy, not talking about you) when they'll do anything short of mugging you to get that $$$.

Customer Service does not exist at nissan.
I owned Honda's before I bought my Z, and NEVER EVER
had any issues with their service. Honda went above and beyond
with any service issues, including basic oil changes.
I keep reading all these horror stories about nissan dealerships
all across the nation conducting business in the same way.
For the good one's, if they even exist, it's all these crappy one's
that make you all look bad. It is a nationwide epidemic of
horrible CUTOMER SERVICE from the top, NNA, all the way
down to the dealerships.
+1,000,000 (never again will i buy a Nissan! I wished Toyota made the Z car)

Lexus/Toyota has world class customer service. Everytime I call my local Nissan dealer, it's a punch of punk *** kids that I have to deal with that always take forever to check something in the computer and they just put the phone down and you can always hear them swearing off at each other in the background.

I think this is the first time I've ever started to read a thread this long, and couldn't stop. Good Read.

My Opinion, glad you asked

1. Since our friend George damaged the other rear wheel, he should be responsible to repair (replace) it.

2. The dealer offered to professionally powder coat all four of these "Limited Edition" wheels in any color George wanted. That sounds GREAT to me. I assume some kind of warranty would be given the work, and all the wheels would look the same and be like new.

3. The dealer was remiss for not keeping George in the loop early on, but it appears that George did not pursue his problem until a lot of time went by and I lot of animosity had been built up.

4. If the dealer had been able to get him one wheel with the proper offset, he would have one new wheel, two used wheels and and one damaged wheel. Sounds like a mismatch. And - George would have had to repair (replace) the damaged wheel at some time anyway. Wouldn't you George?

5. Now, I'm no supporter of Performance Nissan. My only experience with them was years ago. I bought a set of Nismo wheels from them over the phone. The next day I found them for less. When I called them to price match, the refused and were somewhat rude. I cancelled, repurchased them elsewhere, and have had nothing to do with them since.

Oh, and the paint and hood experience - a smoke screen by Andy, and not the way to sell a new car. Tsk Tsk, Performance Nissan.

Again - JMHO

Lou

I hate to say it but my wife's Scion dealership is pretty damn good. The Nissan dealership I get my Z serviced at is good most of the time. Only once when they mounted the directional tires on backwards on the Z I was like "I waited 2 hrs for this?"

Instead of PN buying a second wheel and being out $700 they are going to lose more than that in future business. A penny wise a pound foolish!

Ouch, I hope Andy's boss doesn't see his comments and his dissing of other Nissan Dealerships, very unprofessional. Andy, sorry dude, but if you worked for me, you would be receiving your pink slip.
Don't be surprised if West Covina dealership isn't already in contact with your slave masters. KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT, it ain't your place to air dirty laundry, no matter what a customer posts. As you may have noticed, your responses actually turned a once favorable crowd into an angry mob that has no respect for PN. Damn kids!!

As much as I like Andy (I've seen you around You're a good guy) I lost alot of respect from him with him airing his dirty laundry (as said above.) Thought you would be a little more professional..

sure, and like I said... in this same circumstance, I am absolutely sure they would handle this the same way. why do you think a dealership is responsible for replacing two rims??? comeon now guys...

where in any of this issue do you see Perfomance Nissan screwing the OP over? just because they suck at communication? NEWSBREAK!!! omg a car dealership doesn't call back??@!!!??11!??? that has NEVER happened in the history of the universe... oh wait, every dealership does this. I have never had (even at great dealerships) a 100% call back rate.

it's obvious there was a communication break down and you guys are going to hang andy with it? be ****ing happy he admitted it, isn't that what matters? HE TOOK RESPONSIBILITY! or would you rather him have not ala half the people on this forum. I commend him for being honest with us, and you people are going to treat him like this because he is honest?

and in regards to his comments about WCN... what comments? yeeeaaahhh... since when is someone not allowed to have a personal opinion? notice it's the other nissan dealerships (competing vendors?? oh yeah, forgot about that) flaming that fire. I wonder why...

andy, I will continue ordering parts online from you guys for your honesty. I hope your dealership learned from the lesson and all that jazz.

Nice try, this has nothing to do with a bandwagon. If you don't get it, then I'm not going to bother with ya. There is a professional way to do things and there is an unprofessional way to do things, that's just the way it is, son. BTW, enough with the "strawman" bs arguments that you set up, that shat doesn't work with me. Just stop it! However, I do agree with you on one thing, you are "sorry".

Honesty isn't always commendable. He basically expressed that he dislikes WCN and he pretty much said that George isn't a good customer. Of course he was honest at admitting fault and negligence, but as a representative of PN he should have kept his snide comments to himself.

The reason that people are jumping on Andy isn't because he is human and because he is frustrated with this situation, it is because he represents PN and his attitude is dragging PN through the mud.

Besides, Andy also said

In all honesty, if George's history of services were not what it is, it would've been a lot easier for me to convince the service department to buy him that second replacement wheel and they probably would have.
What gave George bad history? The fact that he was unhappy with a hood that had touch up paint? The fact that he realized that PN lied to him about the status of his car when the hood was getting repainted? Or is it the amount of money he spent in the service department AFTER he purchased a $30,000 car from PN?

Andy pretty much said that PN's attitude would have been different if George was a better customer. That isn't professional for PN. And Andy's honesty only revealed the problem that PN has with customer service and their overall attitude problem in general.

Sure, he was honest. But most of what he said should have been kept to himself.

and in regards to his comments about WCN... what comments? yeeeaaahhh... since when is someone not allowed to have a personal opinion? notice it's the other nissan dealerships (competing vendors?? oh yeah, forgot about that) flaming that fire. I wonder why...
I don't think most of us know why Andy doesn't care for WCN or the people who work there. But again, he should have kept that to himself.
