The 2004.5 has the RASC (Radical Acceleration Speed Chip). Lots of people don't know that.

Was there anyone with these common problems that got turned away or screwed over by the dealer by paying out of pocket?

whats the gas tank problem? The other night it wouldnt completly fill up, or it was fuller then I thought it was. I was on E, and the pump stoped filling at like 13.9 gallons..im pretty sure its a 20 gallon tank.

Then last night I put 50 bucks in it(the night before I put 50 as well but it stoped at $44, so I figured it would be more then enough), and it used all the $50 dollars up, it was at 15.8 gallons. So I dont know how far it would have gone, I was tempted to put more money in, just to see how far it would fill up. Last night I was lower on the E though then the previous night, as the light was on.
Don't know about the other things, but the gas tank problem is something that can easily be fixed under warranty...though mine has run out, which is why it has not been fixed. Basically it's as you describe: The car won't let you put any more gas in, but the gauge doesn't read completely full. For me at least, the difference isn't much, as I do only city driving. So it doesn't really bug me enough to sort it out. Not as to whether it varies from car to car however...

Edit* and what the hell is an RASC? Sounds like some sort of gimmicky ricer product..like the tornado gas saver. Is this for real? Or are you just yanking our chains?

Default 04 realy 3.5 touring 5at liquid aluminum

scored it for 22 grand @ 22 k miles.

I just had the tsb axle clicking, tsb alignment, It has a nismo wing that is loose and there telling me 150 but may damage paint.

I had a mysterious clunk sound at low speeds a diff dealer in july they could start by replacing the struts, uh no thats a open ended check.

Went to mcarthy nissan in olathe ks, the found the real issue. right inner tie rod ball joint. was the culprate

also my bumper to bumper warranty ran out 2 weeks ago and i was charged 233 dollars in july from the previous dealer.

this new dealer is reimbursing my cost from the last dealer.

or is going to credit me when i get it fixed friday.

Personaly I think it should be fixed for free. but hey what do i know....

Default clunk

got a call from the dealership, they now say the right compression nrod is the source of the clunk and will replaces it for the cost of the part.

Sound like alot of clunk on these cars is from the compression rod going bad .

any ideas

any after market replacements that work longer or better ?

Same here. Did you forget to mention the hose recall? Did you have that done yet? You really should. It's a '03 & '04 recall or campaign if you want to call it that. Even if you are out of warranty it's covered. That is the only time my Z has been in the shop.
That recall is for when a vendor that supplied bad hoses that would crack. They would crack after time in weather. Quick trip to dealer and 3 hours later.... It's done. Wow !!

I also checked their work by marking my hoses prior to taking it to the shop. The new ones still had the part number tags on them. You could tell the changed them plus apparently they figured out a way to do it without droping the rear all the way out on by unbolting and jacking further up on the lift to seperate the car for the rear end for access. That meant they didn't have to disconnect a bunch of extra stuff. I didn't have any noise issue like some that has gotten this service early on. I waited six months so they could practice on someone elses car.
