Some old people (65+) that I've come accross find the contemporary AT too scary, they were taught to drive in manuals only and have full control of the car. The intimidation of new technologies has gotten to them, and when you think about it... auto transmission, cruise control, LSD... and so forth, it can be understood why the can feel not in control and reject current AT cars, as I've seen them do.

Not taking anything from AT there are drivers who need them, like my mummy

I don't think the Z has a heavy clutch at all. The only thing I don't like about my 05 is that the catch point is way too high, and that the clutch pedal has a really long travel. Also, is it just me or is 2nd loud for everyone? Alot of the times I shift into second i feel it is just dropping.

i absolutely would not buy a gtr, nice car and all but over priced and overrated, plus like i said its auto. They are nice fast cars but for the money could get something much better in my opinion, but it is all in what you like ya know. One just sold at a local dealership for 100,000 here. now that is waaayyy tooo much. they get stomped by stock zo6's and ****. they are rare and that is what i do like about them though. I just in no way see it as a true skyline, id take a r34 over it anyday.

After driving a manual trans car for like three years, I had to drive my sister's civic auto. and twice, when I was coming to a light, I slammed on the brake pedal thinkingit was a clutch. That was embaressing, especially since there were two girls in the car as well.

One Japanese man's family sedan is an American man's supercar.

I learned to drive stick on a '75 Nova with a three-speed column shift.

My Z's clutch is feather-light and butter-soft compared to my old Chevy's truck transmission.

His point was that the standard skyline models in japan were just nice sedans, nothing sporty or special about them. The GT-R model of the skyline is the
'supercar' you are referring to. Vastly different than a regular skyline.
