Default Another comparison! Z vs. Cayman S?

Okay, so a buddy of mine has a Cayman S. Sometimes I wonder which one of us would win in a straight line; I think the horsepower ratings are just about the same, aren't they? The weight, too. When you look at it, the cars seem to have similar specs. Any experience on the matter?

CaymanS is much faster. Much faster. Im not sure of the engine but they are fast in autoX and they're fast in straight lines. Awsome machines..

According to Edmunds...

0 - 30 (sec): 1.9
0 - 45 (sec): 3.3
0 - 60 (sec): 5.0
0 - 75 (sec): 7.2
1/4 Mile (sec @ mph): 13.20 @ 105
30 - 0 (ft): 26.77
60 - 0 (ft): 106.10

Plus it comes with alot better wheels/tires than the Z.

Maybe an '07Z would have a chance, but I don't see an '03-'06 winning unless the Porsche driver sucks.

A friend of mine has a Cayman S, we race quite frequently. My 06 is stock
and we are fairly even. Of course, I believe I have more experience driving
at speed.

It should be pretty even depending on the driver.

Then go to the dragstrip and race. Bench racing is boring.

Going to the strip is difficult when the only one around is in a different state. I don't have any time for that. I'm not going to race him on the streets, either, because if I was caught by the popo I'd be forced to lose the Z. (Insurance would become unbearable). Just curious.

I hate the little spoiler that pop up. The car looks OK. Doubt I'll ever spend that type of money for a so-so Porsche. If you go for a Porsche. Go for the Gold. Turbo Carrera GT. Oh yes, it will be mine:

Let's see for a car that cost twice the price of a Z ..... I'd go Vette and save some change.

Both are great cars. Both serve its purpose. I was really considering getting the Cayman but the lack of LSD is pushing me away.

It's OK. Push one my way. I'm thrilled with my new Z, but come on!

The Cayman could be so much more though. Nice car and I plan on renting one for a day while in Dubai. Then I will give my impression of it.

Seriously! Get a new LS3 Vette and you'll be toying with GT3's...not 350Z's.

Besides, I'd rock a M coupe over a fugly Cayman.
