It's too bad they keep the $ for mileage. However understandable. My brother in law got all his money back, taxes, rental and lawyer fees.
At least that is what he said. I quized him on the mileage part. He simply said everything including the lawyers costs and taxes. I was amazed on the taxes part. But, it makes since to me that you would get that back from them as they won't have to pay for them if a item is returned.
It did, of course, take the lawyer(and I hate lawyers)almost a year to go through the process with Ford and the courts. Ford also, the paid for the few hours he missed work to aquire the rental car and take the car defective car in by the time it was all over.

All that for a leaky sunroof that for some reason they couldn't get sealed up after 3 visits to the dealership. I also believe the car was there for over 30 days because it couldn't be left out in the rain because it was distroying the interior and he had no place to park the car inside. Of course he could have covered the sunroof during rains while sitting in his driveway. However, while driving in the rain it just poured down on you in streams.

Nothing like getting into your car on a rainy day to go to work and sitting in a puddle of water.

Ironically a few months later he saw the car on the road again. Hopefully, the sunroof was fixed for the new owner.

OP - I hope you get your problem fixed before having to go through the lemon law process. I can assure you it's no fun and it is easier to have it fixed than going through the process. However, if you it doesn't look like they are going to make it right start the process as soon as you can. In my opinion it's easier to tough out the repair process if they are willing to work with you on it than it; than it is to go to all those meetings and court dates.

Now my story:

Back before Lemon laws I had a F-250 Diesel that I had to take back to Ford for noisy/loud banging rear end 5-6 times .... Only was a problem under load /towing uphill around corners. But, it was every tight corner. I kept after FORD and took it in at least once a month. Problem solved after 6 months. It was hard driving a new truck around with a noisy rear end. It always happen to me when I was towing my boat out for the weekend. It would always make my weekend, not. I didn't want to be seen or heard coming around the corner with it. It was actually very scary. I thought the trucks rear end was going to lock up and throw us off the mountain each and every time I heard that noise. After a few months of the noise I figured at least I wasn't going to get in a accident over it.

I mean really this was a brand new and expensive truck in it's day.

Oil changes, various individual parts never fixed the problem. So, in the end it cost FORD $2200 to replace the rear axle. I figure it was a defective clutch pak on the Transloc rear end. I suspected that from day one. Ford of course when for the cheap fix at first and then finally got the district manager to approve the rear end after 4-6 visits to the shop over the first 6 months or so.

After that the truck ran for 280K miles without any warantee problems. Nice truck except for diesel smoke.

So I think with these things it all amounts to % of your time and trouble you want to go through. I am sure I spent less time on the issue than my brother in law and got in the end what I wanted. On the other hand, my brother turned around and bought another GM because he get such a good deal on them through my other brother in law.

My .02 GM's are OK cars. I love my Firebird never had a defective part. You must remember cars are mechanical and do wear out, need maintenance etc...

However, saying all this I'd still buy a Corvette or a Ford GT if I could. But, my eyes is really on something like a Porsche or a Lambo someday after I make my first couple of million.

Until then, I'm happy with my trouble free 350Z.

P.S. I hope I didn't make your eyes hurt guys and gals. Sorry for the long a$$ post.

So my question is... Would this consider a LEMON LAW car ? If so, How many time does it have to happen to be one???? It was already taken to the StealerShip once for this problem.... Cuzz I really starting to disLIKE this car........

I have an 07Z and my driver window does the exact same thing. Also I have a rattling noise that sounds like it is coming from the rear right hand suspension.

I rolled the window up again without activating the auto-close. I then opened the window by activating the auto-open.

Voila. The window sensor had reset. No dealer needed.
Wow! your first post and you made worth our while. Thanks for the tip!

It's probably more the window problems you're tired of, rather than disliking the whole car. Problems are fixable, and your 07 my friend is under warranty. Find a dealer who can fix the problem for you. Good luck.

"The" lemon law varies state-by-state. Some don't even have them all all.

It's possible that there's an easy fix for the window problem. I had an identical problem on my 03 Maxima. It turns out that on the Maxima, there's a reset button and by simply popping out the window switch in the door panel I could press the button and it reset the sensor. The dealer of course quoted $150 to troubleshoot. My final cost was $0 and 10 mins of my time.
I don't know if the Z has the same setup but it wouldn't surprise me.

Here are the instructions for the Maxima, maybe someone here knows if this applies to the Z as well.

Step 1: Pry the plastic cap up off the bottom centre of the door pull handle and remove the single Philips screw.

Step 2: Remove the whole switch panel (in which the door pull handle sits) by prying it up from the back end either with a flat edged screwdriver or table knife (under cloth) or by hand which is what I did. It is just clipped in so should come out relatively easily sliding it up at the back and then pulling it back.

You can now see the inside of the door from where the switch finishing plate sat. You can leave the wiring all attached and simply hang the switch and handle plastic assembly to one side so you can see the inside of the door.

Look inside towards the front bottom of the door behind the plastic vapour barrier you will see a small black switch. It almost looks like a black pan screw head. This is the reset switch but there is a sequence to now doing the actual reset procedure. The switch doesn't really feel like one when you press it through the plastic liner which incidentally you don't need to cut (at least I didn't have to). It is a switch that is only on when you are pressing it otherwise when released it is off.

STEP 3: Make sure the window is closed (up) completely. Turn the ignition on so the windows are receiving power.

a) Press the reset switch (and keep it pressed in) and open (down) the window completely (manually -NOT with AUTO ONE TOUCH DOWN FUNCTION).
b) Release the reset switch. Then close the window completely (manually only - NOT AUTO UP).
c) The limit switch is now reset. Easy!!!
