Default Dealer Screwgie

Alright folks - check it.

Called the dealer this afternoon to get an update on my car as far as arrival time frame.

Once he tells me that the car is expected to arrive on-time, he then mentions that my car has been ordered with Floor Mats, and Splash Guards. Now I did not want these 2 options on the car, since I have already purchased my floor mats and didn't want the Splash Guards. I am already planning on telling him to keep the floor mats, but still unsure what to do about the Splash Guards. He told me that this was standard NISSAN practice that they place Splash Guards on every car, and that the floor mats are the same way. This was poopy ****. Anyway just thought I would vent a bit, I hope they got the right color on the car.

Purchased mine w/o splash guards as did many others- tell them to take them off or throw them in for free.

It's standard that every car salesman tries to screw you. Personally, I'd tell him to take the car and shove it up... that'd probably get you both for free. Just don't be a pansy about it, he is sticking it to you.

That's an outright lie.. Splash guards DO NOT come standard.. Tell him to keep them.. As for the mats, they are sealed in plastic and can be deleated from your order with no problem.. Sounds like your dealing with a first class jerk salesman.. Par for the course..

Good Luck..

Yeah, just tell him you didn't order those and if he'd like to throw them in for free, you'd be happy to resell them on eBay. Otherwise, you'd suggest he take them out of the car as you are not in either case paying something you didn't order.

Stick to your guns.

I didn't order mud flaps on my Z either, but it came with them - initally I was ticked but now I'm glad I have them - I think they look alright, but the protection they provide is really worth it - and by the way, I didn't pay for them - they weren't on my original order - - but I'll take them - thanks mr. dealer - lol

Hey Z-extreme, I assume that you have signed for a particular spec and corresponding price. Don't bring up the fact that you didn't order the spats and mats with the dealer just yet. Wait until delivery and then mention these to him. He cannot charge you more that you have agreed and you could always request that he takes them off. If you do this, he will more than likely through them in for free.
I realise that you have purchased your own mats - are they Z mats? The Z mats are cut to fit the drivers footwell exactly and I recommend these over regular mats that you get form K-Mart etc. Check them out when you pick up the car.

The mats I ordered were off the Courtesy website. I thought I would go ahead and just order the mats ahead of time and save my self a couple bucks. I also ordered some other items as well, so they are the Z mats, with the Logo stitched into the mat.

Thanks for all you advice.
