Default Am i wrong on this?

Sup all. So here is what happened

There was an item on this forum that i wanted to purchase.

I sent the seller several messages, my last message said i would pay the asking price and was ready to make the purchase. I asked for his paypal account.

The seller responded with. "Give me till Monday since i have a member that inquired about them before you that is actually going to let me know if he wants them. Sorry but since he had the first pm hes going to have first shots at the rims. I will let you know def by mon maybe even sunday night. Thanks"

found out today the guy sold them to the other guy.

I offered to buy them first, yet he waited for somebody to make up their mind. Am i wrong for being bothered, even angry about this? I know there is nothing i can do about it, so i am just asking for your views on this for self reflection and evaluation of my feelings.

Obviously the guy had the right to do what ever he wanted with his rims. I am more or less asking if my reaction to this event is wrong. again this is for self reflection.

thanks,
Vincent

you r not wrong but seller has the right to sell it to anyone he refers. Just like you buyer, you have the right to buy it from another seller.

I think its fair, the seller was dealing with the first person to respond and giving him a chance. If you went to a store and the only salesman there was dealing with another customer it wouldn't be right for him to leave that customer for you just because you were waiving money around and ready to check out. The other person could have also been local, thus saving the seller the hassel of shipping. Don't worry there are always deals on these boards, just be patient and you'll get what you want.

I'm glad to see a vendor with some integrity, he told the first guy he had first crack and he kept his word. Sounds honorable to me.

The best way to answer this question is to put yourself in the other buyers shoes. If you had contacted the seller first, then he sold it to someone who came in later, how would you feel about it then?

Agree. Its neither right or wrong. Just your reaction.

The seller can sell to anyone that he wants, or reject any offer for any reason.

plus if that other guy was local, that would cut down on the hassle of trying to ship if the other person was willing to pick up

Exactly...I've done the same thing. I gave the first buyer the opportunity of the sale even though I had a later buyer with "ready with paypal, now"!
it's the honorable thing to do. Good Luck in the future!
