So, let me see 3180 - 2/3 a tank of gas (13.5gal) - 40Lbs for wheels 7LBS for titanium exhaust = 3052lbs That now sounds about right.
Therefore, you weren't answering the OP question as we thought you were.
Your numbers are pretty darn close now that we have all the information.

Bit late, but adding to my post. That was for a Touring or Track in NZ, not sure how much difference there would be in US, I'd imagine very little.

Touring are heavier due to all the options. Leather, Power seat units, seat warmers, extra insulation, amp, sub woofer, etc....

Tracks are heavier than Base Models in US even with the lighter wheels. However, that doesn't mean a Base is faster by any stretch.

Of course there are slight differences over the years due to other things etc....

Now here's an interesting thought. If you lined up one of each spec, same mileage, same driver, stock, on a drag strip, dyno etc, be interesting to see what the time etc differences would be.

Yes, that would be something. Lot's of variable still however. But, if all the cars were stock and ran the same tire pressure etc... You might be able to get your answer in an hour if they were all lined up on the salt flats ahead of time so that you could have the driver jump from one car to the next. Then by the end....he might be getting tired and it might show in his performance.

Science - Controlled Experiment - You still have some variables in this one.

I havent got my title in the mail yet, so I dont know what the weight is on there. But did we decide that the Touring curb weight, according to Nissan is 3247lbs(1467kgs)? Or is that the track model?

http://nissannews.com/nissan/2006veh...pe/specs.shtml

According to Nissan its 3370lbs for a 2006 Touring and 3400lbs for a track. Again, those claims though "official" aren't accurate. You have to look at the weight on your registration, title, and then weigh the car yourself at a local weight station - it takes all of 5 minutes to do.

Like I said, I have an 06 Touring and mine weighs over 100lbs less than what Nissan says.
