Default Getting tired of reading old threads

One problem I see when insisting (and hammering) new members to do a search first…

Boy and Howdy are we experiencing a rebirth of old threads with hardly anything new.

It’s getting painful.

I agree with you to a certain extent. I hate when people make threads just for the sake of making threads though. I do agree that there isnt much new exciting stuff posted very often. People on other car forums seem to have more project threads and stuff and maybe it's b/c the cars Im referring to are cheaper and the cars are paid for while the Z is pretty new still and people dont want to do crazy stuff to them.

Ever since I stopped buying stuff for my car, I get really really bored reading this forum lately. Same stuff different day kinda thing.

It's still the only Z forum I visit but seems like I only really get into it, if I'm looking to mod. I use to read this place like a Bible before I even had my Z.

Guess I should buy something

I will be getting Koni shocks, new tires, maybe sways and a camber kit but that's a year or so down the road, since I don't really need them at the moment.

I notice in my Ford truck forum that the guys are more supportive of your mods. Saying stuff like, kewl or nice. If they don't like it they just say to each there own. Here, is seems like if they don't like it they want to bash you and tell you how slow your car is or the it looks like carp.

Also, I think the Z is fast enough for the street, stock. I know it's a sport car and people like to mod them as I do but, speed isn't everything for the street. Most people here don't go to the track so what's up with that? It almost boy ricer stuff lately. I relate this to all those guys out there with 4WD that never see the dirt .... forget climbing or rubicon. As far as the Z goes, I mean if you really want a fast car buy an older Vette or something. Don't get me wrong, I believe in taking whatever car you have and making the most of it. But, you don't have to bash others if they like the classic untouched version of their Z it's really wasn't made to be a drag car. Not to mention when you mod a lot of times you cause more problems than it's worth. Hence the reason I stopped showing people how to do some cheap custom mods my threads would get trashed or go sideways. And the my year Z is faster than your year Z is crazy they are so close in HP and weight etc... come on. I mean if they bumped up the HP by 50HP-100HP that would be noteworthy but, 6-10HP. You can get that with a Pop Charger almost.

I'm starting to spend more time in Regionals. I trying to get back into the Z events. I think a lot of the guys are looking for options beside JUST talking about car at our meets now. Actually doing stuff together besides the cruises etc....

For example - Poker anyone? Where's that Zoo? Redwoods? Wine and dine? etc....

Hey… I’m trying to do just that. What do you think is the reason for this thread?

The Z platform has been very stable for a number of years. That’s a great invitation to aftermarket manufacturers to provide a wide range of products. The Z literally begs for a CES replacement, as well as drive train innovations. There’s much to talk about here

Discussions about 17 year olds drivers, AT vs.MT, crashes caused by worn tires and inexperienced drivers, and a lot of other things that come here is a waste of the reader’s time.

I only mention the” search-thing” to point out that it sometimes stifles new and potentially vibrant discussions. If we constantly tell new members to do a search, we can hardly expect new discussions. And let’s face it… the search functions on this Forum leave a lot to be desired.

Got an idea for a thread .... difference and pictures over the years.... OMG now I have to do research. Maybe we could do a fill in the blanks.
Don't know... What do you guys think? Lame thread or not.

you have a join date of less than a year ago and you're complaining about repeat threads?

welcome to my world 3 years ago. yes there are repeat threads(this is probably one). But this site never ceases to amaze me. try checking the OT forums. Someone's always posting some dumb **** you've never thought of.

Well... you just reinforced my point. One year is probably a short time. Experienced members know how to search and get the information they need.

Your right! I'm sorry...I should fix that but can't find the strikeout fonts.

yah, meeting up with local z drivers is MUCH better than talking to people that live 3000 miles away. here in peenix az, we meet up at bdubs (buffalo wild wings) every tuesday night. (ive only done it once tho) and when the weather isnt stifling we have a car wash with bbq and booze. tomorrow morning there is a benefit car wash for a fallen soldier whos funeral was this afternoon. we have a benefit car part auction for a NICO member whos wife died this past week. (one of the items is a track prepped 240sx shell, no motor or tranny for $3500)

theres SO many things you can do. but the REAL info on this site is irreplaceable, ive learned a lot from some of these members.
