so here it is... happened on base at cherry point marine corps air station. a retarded private was backing up and didnt see my car in his xterra. he didnt have insurance, and on top of that he recieved a moving violation. total preliminary quote was around 5k. not including my after market losses. the collision pushed my car while the steering wheel was all the way to the left and hit a parked car. destroyed my front cf lip...cracked windshield...front bumper is cracked...rear bumper demolished...hatch F***ed...and my after market exhaust is bent up... we dont know the internal damage either. steering might be damaged also.

sorry to hear hope things get worked out for you and the Z gets fixed or replaced.

 

my insurance covers un-insured motorist policy... so i get what i want from my insurance... and the insurance goes after the private. its at the shop now.. only problem is .. my adjustor doesnt know if they will cover my after market parts or not... waiting.

 

time for a some non judicial punishment.

 

ohhhhh theyre definately wont cover your aftermarket parts. i had my accident filed under the same un-insured motorist policy, and they said that if i didnt have additional insurance for that then they wouldnt cover it.

my recommendation to you..... tow that thing to wherever you can and pull the exhaust and stuff off to see if you can sell any of it.

ill sue him... or beat him till he pays up. i dont own much as a marine... i live in the barracks and share the bathroom...i get paid on the 1st and the 15th like im on welfare. but one thing that i own is my car.. its my pride and joy when it comes down to it. my cars been there for me when i returned from deployments... unlike gfs and other friends. im gonna do all i can to get my car back to how it was.

 

sorry to see and hear about this. Like the other guy said, aftermarket parts won't be covered, unless you would've gotten the additional insurance beforehand. Just outta curiousity, why did you leave the steering wheel to the left and not centered?

Ahem... wall to wall counseling... ahem.

 

i pulled out of the parking lot and i steered to the left to get out.. he was going in reverse at the aisle. later on the actual report he made to the military police, he said he had his right arm over the passenger seat and looked towards his 6 and 3 oclock angle. he didnt pay attention to the 6 to 9 o clock angle where my car was. literally he hit me right when i put the gear into first and steered to the left to get out.
when the collision happened my car was pushed about 4-6 feet forward hitting the parked car that was originally parked left of me.

 

I just had my 4th near miss today in a parking lot. Mercifully, on all four occasions I’ve been in the car and was able to accelerate out of harm’s way. The aggressor threatening my car has always been a big SUV or van. When another driver hits you in a parking lot, the excuse is always the same: “I couldn’t see the low car behind me.”

The damage in your photos indicates that Private Benjamin was backing-up way too fast. He hit you pretty hard. No wonder he received a citation.

Among the damage you mention: “...cracked windshield.” The windshield is cracked? That sounds really bad. Is the A-Pillar misaligned? I think this may be worse than it looks (and it looks pretty bad).

If that dumb fck has no insurance, he probably won't pay you for the damage. If you sue his sorry as, it's going to take forever.

OMFG!!! What a dumb *****! You probably wanted to pummel him at the time, but looking at those pics make a grown man wanna cry. She's a beaut (or was ). Here's hoping you get her fixed up soon and back on the road being the hot biatch that she was.

 

It sucks when it's an accident with an uninsured motorist. He might not even have to pay for any damages except being ticketed. The law kinda sucks. Here, if you have your 2nd accident with no insurance, then you could lose your license, but nothing happens to the 1st accident except a slap on the wrist (fine).

Hope she comes back better than before.

 

hmm, looks like a failure on the part of his chain of command, mainly his squad leader. no reason to blame the Private for the shortcomings an inattention by his squad leader. sucks your Z got damaged.
