I run Dunlop WinterSport M3's and they are excellent. You probably won't notice any difference between this and Blizzaks. Just go for whatever you get the best deal on.

You are really gonna have to put in some time on Google. Last year I narrowed it down to Michellin X-Ice or Nokian Hakkapellitta. The Nokian have always been one of the best if you can afford them. Others vary from year to year who is the best. Blizzaks last year were starting to need an update and were not considered the ultimate anymore. Also consider that Blizzaks excel on ice and only have their best ice traction 50% through the tread life then you are left with basically an all-season.
I noticed a big difference between my Dunlop Graspics and my Michellins as far as getting up the driveway, etc. VERY noticeable. Note - do not just walk into a tire store and let them tell you we can either get you this set or this set. Works for summer tires usually but search out the snow tires you WANT becuase you are gonna need some good ones.
And go figure, Dunlops ranked next to last in a TireRack test for the category deep snow traction. Check TireRack reviews, Google for other independent studies/tests (especially ones that are Sweedish!) and consider the mix of ice/snow you get in YOUR area and then just take a blind stab at it
As usual the key is search, but probably not here...

Certainly this thread will be soon moved to the “Wheels & Tires” Tech Area.
And… you can tell the season since this discussion always happens when we approach winter.
I’ve had the best results and economy running Blizzaks on 17” wheels. Keep it all square as far as width (225mm at all four corners) and select overall diameter (front is different than rear) that matches the Z’s staggered setup.
