Default August 12th Deliveries

Assuming that the Ship arrives with a large # of Z's (1k-2k) .. how long will it take for the cars to arrive at the dealers? Is this a matter of days (4-5 days) or weeks (2-4 weeks)?

Thanx

I would plan on 2 weeks. The cars have to be inspected by the Dept of Agriculture, then they have to clear customs. I shipped a car from Europe to the States and it sat at the port for 12 days getting thru that red tape. There is a lot of paperwork that has to be done.

I'd wager to say that a private party shipping one car into the country takes much longer than a major motor corp delivering a boatload. I'd guess the process is much more streamlined and efficient. They probably checked to make sure there wasn't a couple kilos of coke in your seats.

In my case here in Florida they said the ship would arrive 8/19 and to expect the car at the dealer on 9/6 +- 5 days, so from 8/19 it could take 2 to 3 1/2 weeks. This time frame was due to fact that they had to the inspections on the cars as mentioned above, plus paperwork and some options. So until it leaves the port of arrival we wont have an accuratedate of when to expect it, I would think that being the first batch they will take more time checking them out to make sure all is well.

Actually matthewZ my car was shipped with factory delivered cars. I managed to get it out sooner than the rest of the cars that were on the ship by sitting in the office of the head customs guy at the port and convincing him to expediate my car. Besides no one but an idiot would hide coke in the seats,,, there are much better places to hide it.
