Default Do you guys thnk............

It's possible to get the dealer to go down to $30,000 for a Tour model with only side curtain airbags and kick plates in auto? I am thinking if i can get a great deal on a 2003, it will more then make up for getting a 2004 Z. What do you guys think? Thanks!

MSRP is $32,787. I would be very suprised if they would come down $2,787 in the summer, but it just depends on how bad they want to sell it. See if you can shop around at other dealers in your area to get the best deal. Going near the end of the month might work better if they have a quota to meet.

Also, don't go for any dealer "add-ons" such as rust or paint protection. Even the extended warranty is questionable since it is expensive and, anyway, you automatically have 3 years and can get a policy later if desired.

Be prepared to "walk" if they can't meet your price. Don't let them run back and forth getting "management approval" and making counter-offers. Tell them you're not going to play that game, and that's all it is.

Start with the Invoice Price and work up from that instead of MSRP and trying to work down. Get the "price out the door" before you sign anything. If you are inexperienced, take some with you who is experienced in buying from a dealer.

Good luck.

Highly unlikely, but worth a shot.. My sticker was 34,614 and I got it for 34k out the door.. Which means he went down to about 32,150 on it.. So I got a great deal on mine.. Tell the salesman you found a deal elsewhere, throw a solid number at him, and threaten to leave. Also as Wayne said, go at the end of a month, because they do need to meet there quota's. Aside from that, why would you buy a Z in AUTO?? Good Luck!

I will try for around $31,000, but as for auto, I would get stick but i really dont feel like paying over a grand extra for it. I mean I would absolutely love it, but it's just a bit out of my price range plus in case another person in my household really needs to use the car <gulp>in case of an emergency they can do so with out destroying the clutch, or taking a crash <gulp> course on how to drive manual. Do you guys think $31,000.00 is to low also? I will shop at the end of the month too. Thanks, any more opinions would be greatly appreciated!!

price a Touring model on the Nissan website and you will see that when you switch it to Auto, the price goes down by over a thousand buck.

Check out carmax.com. They have a touring automatic. I am in MD so if you use 21117 as zip. Ahey have a silverstone with no haggle price of 31618. That is saving of 1965 off MSRP. Invoice is 30,927 and MSRP of 33583. usually carmax has the worst discounts but you can use this as leverage. They have some strange discounts too. A touring silverstone/birckyard gets only 800 off MSRP but a pearl white model gets 2500 off. Hmm??
Anyone have any ideas why?
