These are all benefits of weight reduction, HP increase improves just acceleration.

It doesn't shatter like glass if that is what you think. Your typical market CF hood has one layer of 6 or 12 ounce carbon fabric. The rest is fiberglass and resin.
I know CF wont shatter like glass, but will it break into two clean pieces on either side of the stress point or would there be shards?

And so the thin layer of carbon fiber on an after market hood is supposed to penetrate this fortified layer of glass with a mass over 100 times that of carbon fiber? You guys are serious? You have definitely never been on a track before and seen carbon fiber breaking apart. Holy jesus.

Nope, the windshield will not shatter into shards. It has plastic layer in it and it is tempered.

If you crash hard enough that your windshield shatters, a breaking carbon hood is the very last thing you should be concerned with. I have been in a crash and rollover with a carbon hood, a cheap chinese carbon hood at that. Nothing.

I don't know, it doesn't seem like a real potential problem. Armchair theory mostly. My roof on my S14 is all carbon fiber. But then again, i use a helmet in that car.
