Default Weight Reduction

It's obvious that the more power and performance parts you add the faster your car will be (hopefully), but do any of you guys do any type of weight reduction. I know one obvious will be removing the spare and the jack, but what else do you guys do. How many of you got carbon fiber parts for your car?

I seen on some website carbon fiber doors... i think it said took off 120 lbs but its legal and not safe, but my car isn't a daily driver so i guess i would do it anyways lol, but it said 03-06 and i got 07

Cut the roof off, remove the rear hatch, take off the hood, remove the passenger seat

Eat small portion of food. Exercise and drink plenty of water. Probably the biggest weight reduction you can do and also save money. Unless you are 4'10" and weigh only 70 lbs.

You will definitely reduce some weight by using carbon parts but I really dont think it will be a substantial amount to justify the cost.

Maybe start with some lightweight wheels?

On a serious note, it's best spent on HP/torque than for weight reduction. The car is heavy because it's built of quality materials. I had an Altima before my Z and it was light because it was made out of cheap materials. Sheding a few lbs from the wheels for the amt that you are going to spend on it too much for little gain in quickness.

Whats wrong is that you could have easily have used the search function and found a wealth of information but rather you create a worthless thread.

I added fiberglass front, side skirts, and rear, and took out the spare(for audio reasons) and got a great look and much lighter car.Weight Reduction-parking-lot-pics-005.jpg
