Default Cancel my extended warranty on my Z?

I bought a 6 year 90,000 mile extended warranty when I purchased my Z (it's a '05 was used with 3k miles on it). I think I paid about $1,500 for it. If I were to cancel it now I would get a pro-rated portion of it back (over a grand).

I just swapped my stock clutch/flywheel out for a JWT clutch/fly. I have after market springs, wheels, TPs, Y pipe and a plenum spacer.

I'm not sure what part of my extended warrany I have NOT voided already. The only thing I will eventually need is a new top (starting to peel a little in the corners), but my original warranty from Nissan should cover that.

Has anyone else cancelled their extended warranty because they were modified to a point where it was worthless to keep?

BTW the Z is paid off and is NOT my daily driver.

I think it depends on who you bought the warranty from and in what state you're in. Mine had all the details on how to cancel it and what it would cost. For me it was 10% after I found that my insurance company would also cover mechanical breakdowns for a bit more - and way way cheaper than the Nissan factory warranty.

My car has just over 3000 miles on it so it was pointless to continue to think anything would ever wear out on it.

I got my extended through Carmax. I'm almost positive there would be no cost for me to cancel it. That's one of the main reasons I got it because the person selling me the car made a point to say you cancel at anytime and get the rest of your money prorated back.

BTW I have just over 20K miles.

I have extended warranty as well.

Look at my mod list. None of my warranty is voided.
It helps to have nice dealership you can go to that's totally mod friendly

I have a hunch that if I had any transmission problems would blame the after market clutch (that seems to be the main problem that might come up within the next 40K+ miles). I also do not want to go through the hassle of going back to stock everytime I need something fixed on my car.

I think the main reason why I want to cancel is I don't TRUST Carmax in fixing anything on my Z.

Function:Tuned (my local shop) is right down the road and specializes in Zs/Gs. I guess when I was stock I wouldn't have cared if Carmax tried fixing any problems.

I could be wrong but I don't think Carmax is "mod friendly"
