Jesus christ.. in the middle of a "normal" hard turn, VDC suddenly turned off and the car did a 180 and then some. Wow, thank god no one was near me. What the HELL was that? All of a sudden, it now turns off whenever I launch really quickly, etc? What's wrong with it? This seems REALLY dangerous.

Should also consider adjusting your driving style. If VDC did in fact disengage while you were in the turn, nothing negative should have occurred had you been traveling at a speed which was within your ability level to control.

In other words, you were driving beyond your ability, expecting VDC to fix your errors...

No, it was a normal hard turn.. but the car reacted as if it were on an ice rink. Zero warning. Very scary.

Honestly, no. But it really isn't safe if you're used to driving with VDC on and you lose it when it cuts off on you.

YOu must have been over driving it . Without VDC you should be able to take the corner just fine .

I dont baby my car, I will probly go through a clutch every year.

If you cant handle your car INSTANTLY 180'ing in a corner you should learn some car control skills( not to be an ashhole or anything, but for safety ).


I have only ONCE inadvertently spun my car out, when I basically dumped the clutch. The rest of the time was drifting on purpose(trying too hard haha).

I don't understand.. either way if VDC suddenly cut power you shouldn't spin out... VDC applies brakes to try to correct you and if you were going too fast VDC will not correct and you will spin out.. sounds like this is what happened.. unless you were going fast enough to lose traction, and while VDC was blinking and correcting it suddenly shut off and made you spin out. Either way.. i'd say drivers error. VDC will not make a car spin out if suddenly shut off..

can you explain how you think VDC suddenly turned off:.
1. Was the vdc light on before you made the turn?
2. did the slip light start blinking during the turn?
3. did the vdc ligth turn on during the turn and never turned off?
4. did the slip ligth turn on during the turn and never turned off?

Couldn't have been better said.

If your logic is true, then every base model would be crashing on a "normal hard turn" since they don't come with VDC.

A wise man once told me that modern cars are design for safety and control more then ever before. When people lose control, they automaticly blame the car and never themselves, not realizing that the car's control design acutally saved it from being worse.

It was 30-40* in Toronto today.

So, it instantly spun out? With those temperatures, you have much less traction than you normally would. However, instantly spinning out probably means you were going WAY to fast. If you were on the edge the car should slowly start to go from underneath you. You had to have been accelerating in order to do that, is my bet. 2nd gear, 5k RMP, and you floored it on 40* pavement already turning hard?

i do like 25 on intersection, is that considered hard? i dont feel the car is losing traction at all, like it's ALMOST losing traction,i could feel it... kinda scary too

It wasnt that cold that the roads were frozen I left Toronto at 5 am today and did not lose control in my Z... See guys I do drive the damn thing sometimes!!!!

Hell my VDC doesnt even turn on when I start the car now that I fixed that stupid switch.

Learn to drive the damn thing.....
