^^^^ my thoughts exactly!! After reading so many owners saying their VCD or TCS light won't turn off on this forum, I'm glad i got my SB 05 Base no electronic crap to deal with. The Z is meant to be driven if you're too lazy to push down the gas pedal (excluding long trips) go get a Honda.

I have an 08 base and I don't miss cruise at all. I never really liked using it in my other cars bc it made me feel like I wasn't in "control" of the car. Besides if you really want the look of an enthuseist, you can always buy the upgraded wheel controlls and install them, only $90, but the cruise doesnt work.

LSD is a must.
It's nice to have that 2nd wheel traction catching you through the turns.

If you don't need it...., you aren't driving hard enough. SO, you may not actually need cc unless you're on a road trip.

Base weighs less with all of the electronic muck and the leather seats add weight and rob performance.

I applaud you real gear heads out there.

I don't know if it is a must, especially in SoCal.
Less you are an in experienced driver on the first hour of down pour(very slippery roads).
Even in rainy days its not neccesary as long as you know your car.

I bought to base so I can mod the hell out of it, but life happened and now its still on the back burner. I didn't see the point of spending another 5-10k for things I would be replacing or not use. Hell I would have even gotten hubcaps if I could instead of the rims cause the plan was for some Racing hearts 19's/18's.

PS love to see old threads come to life hehe.

I used to live In Signal Hill. Right next to Long Beach.

Location matters not. A Z without LSD is just wrong in my book.

I beg to differ.
location does matter because of all the factors that can make a difference.

Weather
Highways or Canyons
Type of road (asphalt/dirt/gravel)
Polutions (oily roads)
Sumamabich drivers

LSD is not a necessity if you are experienced in driving with out it.
My GTUs doesn't really make me think I need one.

i don't mind not having it on my 08 Base.

I don't even use it on my 05 STi.

Different strokes for different folks, i guess.

Meh... In SoCal its impossible to use CC anyways because of idiots cutting you off and being perpetually stuck in traffic.

The only time I ever miss CC is when I'm cruising to Vegas, but even then its not that bad. Making that trip once a month or every other month wasnt enough to warrant paying the extra for an Enthusiast.

95% of the time I don't miss it. The other 5% of the time I'm wondering how this isn't standard on every car these days. What's next when I purchase a car...will I need to ask if it comes with power locks

Exactly, the only time ive ever been able to use CC is on the way to Vegas, and thats what 1-2 times a year. Now a days its even bumper to bumper just to get to and from vegas.
