Ok...i maybe going overboard here but since I never owned a car as really really really rediculously good looking as the Z...and with most everyone on the road looking at my Z as I drive by....i almost feel like I'm driving an exotic car or something...lol. It's like people have 3 basic reactions to seeing the Z:
1. Wow...thats a nice Nissan!
2. Wow...that's a nice car!
3. Wow...what is it?
The nicest car before the Z was my 94 Trans Am...that was a headturner when I bought it in '96
The Grand Prix was nice but nothing like the Z
Did I mention that the Z is really really rediculously good looking?

Not even close.
I have an '87 Lotus Turbo Esprit and it gets Lots more looks even with it being 16 years old. My Z is a nice car to daily drive and to thrash on because it is replaceable car, not a hand built "exotic".

My Z gets alot of looks due to the Daytona Blue and the fact that it is a Z. However, I would not confuse this with the looks that exotics get.
My Z is my daily driver. On the weekends, I drive a classic 1953 Bentley R-Type in Antique White. Nothing beats the looks that this car gets. I do have to thank all the rappers out there. Their videos really help the recognizability of my Bentley.
Oh, and before you doubt my ownership of such a car, just look up the cost of one before you post anything. I think you would be surprised.

The Z
1.Stares
2.Thumbs Up
3.Other cars honking me to stop and ask questions the car.
4.People taking pics next to the Z.
5.Everyone wants a ride in it.
6.Special treatment when they see your car.
Exotic cars get the same attention x2. Vice86, you're right.

I get/got the same attention in my Z32 (1990 300ZX)
And I get it all the time in my girls 350Z.
I currently drive a 2002 Audi A4 (new body style) and it gets no attention at all. Now it is a very nice car, but not an attention getter.

Well, vice86 and s9am_me, I'm right there with you, first sports car, and hell yeah, I feel like I'm driving more than an exotic all the time. Just figure living in Miami, with a BMW-Mercedes-Porsche infestation, I get a whole lotta more looks than any of them ordinary types (well, maybe less than a Ferrari or Lambo) but it's definitely ahead turner in a land of excess.Long live the King. Period.
i have to agree with vice on this one. quite simply when people you dont know come up to you to ask abouty a car, then it makes you feel like your driving something that you dont see everyday. exotic = maybe not but definately unique

I'm gonna have to throw in with the attention grabbers here. It's a very rare day when I take out my car and it doesn't turn a fair number of heads and usually I have at least one person roll up next to me to ask about it.
I will qualify the last part of that statement, though, because half of the people that ask me about my car are curious about the color and have "chased" me down because "it is such a unique, a beautiful color". BRICKYARD RULES!
I think a lot has to do with where you live, though. With the exception of one Z owned by a guy who works were I do and lives in my neighborhood, I rarely see another 350Z on the road (outside of organized meets)... maybe 3 a week tops. They are by no means common in our area.

This car garners looks like I have never experienced.
The only other car that I have driven that received this much attention was when I was driving my brother's Audi TT when it first came out. It is still pretty uncommon to see them on the road. I kinda like it that way.
I wonder if we broke it down by color what the response would be. All of the colors but the silver ones are really stunning, in my opinion. The silver is nice too, but it just doesn't have the visual punch that some of the other colors do, again in my opinion. Literally every day I take my DB Z out I get people stopping me to talk and see it in parking lots, drive thrus, base gates, you name it.
Again, before the spears come, I'm not ragging on the silver colors at all (I actually had a SS on order before I walked in and bought a DB off the lot), I just think that the others have some razzle dazzle that make them look "exotic".
