Does anyone know where the car picks up the speed that you are traveling at ? which wheel or at the transmission

 

There are speed sensors on all four corners. Two on the outside of the differential, and two at the front wheels.

The reason there are four is for ABS/TCS/VDC measurement of individual wheel speed.

Now, as to how the computer calculates the display speed, I don't know.
