Making the Z lighter???
Does anybody know any way to effectively make the Z a little bit lighter??? Is there anything in the Z taht is really heavy??? Seats...cats...spare tire???
right now im looking to just remove my excess weight...when i get back from afganistan wi want to replace all heavy items. But let me know what weighs alot that is pointless or can be replaced.
Rickdogg's Z isn't a Nismo, but he started stripping out his Z hard core well before it was caged. Have a look:

well luckily i bought the base model, so i dont have to worry about Cruise control or none of that other stuff, lol. Thats why i got a base model. I dont want to go too extreme but i would like to shave a couple of pounds off of the old tank, lol. It is my daily driver so it has to be somewhat comfortable. And im keepin the A/C because it gets like 120 degrees here in NC in the summer, lol.

I heard the cats are extremely heavy, but...I plan on getting the Stillen Supercharger and i was told by someone who had the kit not to put testpipes or highflow cats on my car with the SC because I would lose power.

thats not even close to a 100lbs loss.....
For a start you got that massive hunk of plastic and sound system behind the drivers seat.
One thing to keep in mind when stripping out the weight is to keep it balanced. If you don't it will alter the dynamics & screw up the handling.
Pardon me if this comes across as being rude, but if you are using the Z as a daily, are you thinking about racing it too? To my mind this is the only reason you'd want to be stripping weight out of the car. Then you can go nuts, lexon in the back window, side windows, strip out all the carpet, all the plastic covers in the back, plastic dashboard and keep going. Then once you cage it & SC, you're increasing the weight.
Good luck on your project.
