Default 100,000 mile club

I'm approaching 100,000 miles on my '04.5, 350 stock Z. Getting 29.5 to 30.2 mph on the hwy crusing at 70. Burning some oil., but no mech problems. Anyone else out there getting close to that mark with no mechanical problem.

i wonder what you will have to change at 100k miles. Axlex, wheel bearings, valve cover gaskets, etc... Someone should make a list.

100k = time to build and boost if you ask me!

I also have an 04.5 and im at 61K miles........cant wait for the day i hit the 100K mark.

to answer the mechanical portion, Im doubting there is anything significant to be replaced or serviced other then the norm.

everyone needs to remember the VQ is one of the worlds best-reliable built engines. in the Z's application is put tho the test in HP and performance and we can see it holds up...

but also, the vq that comes in the 350z will see higher rpms and redlines than other vq engines put in other cars. So i can honestly say that most of us take the engine farther than the other cars so it's hard to tell.

Yes i agree........thats why i said: "In the Z's application its put to the test and still hold up"

It takes a great amount of abuse or pure carelessness to really ruin a VQ...it really does............

Forget boost. Nitrous is where it's at. A good seasoned block like yours should fare just fine. I'm thinking a staged direct systen. 200 for the first stage and 300 for the second. Really though, gongrats on the 100K mark.

Usually the axels and wheel bearings will last longer than the life of the car. LOL

Hmm but good question, did you get one of those service guides with your Z for record keeping? It tells you everything that Nissan does for every so miles.

I only have 18k on my 06. No oil consumption! Keeping my fingers crossed.
