Talking Pugs in a Z

Part of convincing my wife to allow me to get a Z was the fact that I was sure that our two pugs could fit in the back. Well, we tested this theory and the pugs came through just fine. Follow the link for a shot of them on the way home from our outing. http://www.flickr.com/photos/68399751@N00/2194675416/

I also discovered that we can do our normal Costco shopping in the Z too. There's more space back there than I thought!

They're trained enough not to do their business where they're not supposed to. They're not too bad in the car. I put a down throw for them to lay on which I think helped a bit. I imagine they'll come along on rides on a pretty frequent basis in the summer (they get to go to dog parks and whatnot when it's nice out).

Wasn't it the greatest feeling driving that home for the first time? Sorry I got nostalgic.

Very cute. I dunno if I should show my wife though. We have 2 pugs too. She always wants to take them in the Z, but I feel bad cuz I think its kind cramped.

They loved going in my Supra with the Targa off though. They would just stick their face up in the air and close their eyes. lol

Great pic though.

small animals in the back of the Z? Sounds like a great launching pad for sudden braking or accidents. I remember cruisin around with my dog (mid sized) in my prelude, hitting the brakes in emergency, poor girl smashed her face a few times on the dash. I felt bad... a small dog in the back of a Z has a lot more potential. like a grape poping on the windshield.

Anyone ever see the myth busters episode about the box of tissues becoming a projectile in the car and killing the driver during a crash? Well it turns out a box of tissue is too light to build any serious kenetic energy but anything more than a pound or two would give you a serious injury...ughh and dont carry a hatchet in the back shelf of the car. lol
My point is if you drive around with pugs in the back and you crash, either they are going to die or they are going to die and kill you at the same time.

Did anyone else notice their leashes are tied to the rear strut bar?

LOL Mythbusters? That would go for anything not nailed down.

As long as they are strapped down I dont see a problem. My dogs (1 is my avatar with his old tether) wear a (quick release)body harness bolted to chassis with a padded mat that covers the rear speaker area and both small window areas. They have ridden in the back of the Z for (both long and short trips) years. They cant fly forward or lift off nor can they go back past the rear strut bar. They do love the stadium seating tho

Imo alot safer than how most people transport pets or kids or other misc items in other vehicles.

To the OP great looking Pugs sooo cute

Sweet! I have a black one (1 year old) and a fawn one (7 months old). I'll have to try out this travel method.
