Every GM car I looked at went up a few HP and the few foreign cars I checked went down in HP. The opposite happened with mpg...LOL Blazin, correct me if i am wrong, but the hp curve for your car from the brochure hits the 240ish and then flat lines to the redline. One would think that gm did this for some insurance reason.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Z. I have driven faster and I know that there are plenty of fast cars out there. You don't know if a car is a sleeper until it is too late
yes partly, stock at the crank the car peaks at 240hp @ 6,500rpm but peak torque is @4,800rpm and then it flattens out. and thanks for there being at least one supporter. lol.

I am a fan of the sleeper. I give more respect to a sleeper than a guy that goes out and buys a vette or porshe.

i love being a sleeper. unless i have my slicks of course. lol. im 18 years old and i actually wanted to get a z, but nissan was raping me with the interest rate and chevy gave me 5.4%, so i ended up with the cobalt. i ended up very happy with my purchase and i love the look on peoples faces when i beat them. i do have to give respect to the z's though...the best handling car i have ever driven

. the guy is just asking advice. if it were stock for stock then yes Z > cobalt ss, but once you start modding

anything > anything. OP, more info on the car? 6MT? 5AT?

^lol there are plenty of ppl here from S.FLA. anyway, with your year and tranny, I would get this for the most performance

N/A. MREV2 (a lower plenum by motordyne eng.), a 5/16th plenum spacer (again from motordyne), a true dual exhaust

(most recommended exhausts are Fast Intentions, HKS, topspeed, too many to list, do a search for this), put back the stock

air box, the cold air intake robs horsepower, and thats it if you want to keep it simple.

bro, it was a joke. man on the cobaltss forums we have people that own all kinds off different cars. isnt the idea of car forums for people who enjoy a particular vehicle can share their info? i drive and enjoy my dad's z on a regular basis, but since i have a cobalt ss i still get bashed? and by the way, i beat z's off the spray. lol

I didnt come here to start an online battle, i came here to get some advice for my dads car. /rant
