Default vq35 noob

Hey guys, I am posting for my dad. He has a 2006 350z Grand Touring. I already have put a K&N CAI and jdm clear corners on it but he wants some more performance. I drive a Cobalt SS Supercharged but I am not familiar with the vq35 at all. He basically gave me a budget of $2,000 for bolt ons and I want to know what works best on the Z's. If you guys can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot guys...

Well first of all, take the CAI off and sell it. The '06 stock airbox works best for the VQ35 when fitted with a K&N drop-in air filter - better than the cold air or short ram intakes available for it. Then, jump into a true dual exhaust of your choosing. Bring your dad on Youtube and search through videos of true dual exhausts, ask him which one he thinks sounds best, review its performance specs and buy. True dual setups usually run between $800 and $1,400. Then do an ECU tune.

BTW: I'm selling a Stillen true dual with 1000 miles on it for 1100 plus shipping. Get at me for details.

well, you probably lost some power putting the K&N on. the 06+ STOCK CAI has a built in flow stack, from what Ive read, performs better than vertually all the aftermarket intakes, crazy huh!?

look into a plenum spacer, true dual exhaust...

The only real way to chip tune a Nissan is to have it professionally done. As far as your area is concerned, I'd look into PERFORMANCE FACTORY in Orlando.

Spacer, K&N drop-in Stock Airbox, Cat-Back Exhaust, Testpipes (if you don't mind the loudness), you wont have enough left over for a ecu.
Might want to go with the reflash (try osiris)

Yea, that happens to me...

I was talking about when I owned my SRT-4...we were almost direct competition, but SS owners always had an excuse...

"na ill race you next week when I get my smaller pulley"...

wait so the stock air box is better than ALL intakes?

is this for only the 06+ air boxes or the 03-05 too?

if this is true why are do so many members have CAIs? im assuming because they want it to look/sound better?

I would put on a set of test pipes, a Topspeed Pro-1 exhaust and a UTEC engine managment and tune. That's about $2000.

You do realize that they are re-doing the Cobalt SS the way it should have been done the first time right? 260fwhp, turbo...

F the supercharger...that thing is weak.
