Anybody remember the "Dragnet" street racing bust in 2004?
At just about 2:54-2:55 there's a Daytona Blue Z Track Edition that can be seen as one of the cars in the 400 car lineup (I think there may be one other). I realize this is a pretty old video (from 2004), and could even be a repost, but was it anybody here?
On that note, did anyone else get nailed in that bust?

mixed views on this:
it shouldnt be happening, duh.
but all that effort for less than 10 tickets, making people late for something, cant miss the simpsons on a sunday night, or dinner for that matter.
over 400 people...sheesh

wow.... does this really happen? i thought this was fake fast and furious stuff? i didnt think people met in such large groups how could they not expect the police to come? i like the end where the show says a modest haul for such an overwhelming show of force... in other words wow these cops should find something better to do with our tax money.

My old college roommate was one of the guys that was there when this happened. I forget where in the video, but you can see him and also his car (a grey 97 GSX) in the lineup. He was also a member on this board for a while, under the name JoeGengsta.

Same thing happened in the summer over in Philly. I used to go friday nights to watch. Even participated in 2, with friend driving. Youd be surprised how many nice cars show up.
In 02 Police, issued 68 tickets last night – 50 were for drag racing, 18 for motor vehicle violations. Two vehicles were impounded.
It happened again in 07 I beleive. Doesnt mean ****, they honestly dont care about stopping it. They make massive amounts of money in tickets. Anyone in philly knows, you set up in one spot, get some races going, one person sees a cop and we all run and drive away, everytime ive been there no accidents. Cop sits there giving one person a ticket. We all go to anotherarea 5 minutes away and repeat until a cop comes. Many people outrun the police.
At one point all the police were too busy to stop us so they called in a firetruck to hose down the street so we wouldnt race. Another tim they had an ambulance park in the street lol. Best part it there was a police officer seen racing.

I remember when they cracked down a local hang out spot because some kid went on the news saying everyone was "racing" when most people met just to hang out and shoot the s***. This **** ruins good hang out spots for car guys to chill
